Vom Host für Workawayer (Chance)
It took some time, but Chance has built a very nice bond with our dog Dutchy during her time with us. Nice to see how familiar Dutchy became with her.
I can recommend Chance as an excellent pet/house sitter (not in cold climates).
Chance likes to work individually and independently.
She is truly an artist , very creative and a stunning restorer!
… read more She has restored antique Dutch dolls just like a professional doll doctor. Chance can sew fantastically by hand and made invisibly repairs on both textiles and knitting. Truly amazing !
Heavy physical work is not suitable for her , but any fine detailed work is even a challenge and completed to perfection.
Chance like order and cleanliness.
According to food: make sure she can have a smoothie in the morning with greens. Greens are anyway here biggest necessity. And you can make here happy with big scampi's and seafood and of course Belgian chocolate.
We were very happy with all the help we received from Chance and feel blessed and thankful for this.
Who knows when our paths will cross again?

I had the opportunity to stay with Veerle, Cornelis and Dutchy for 2 months, both in Belgium (September) and Spain (October) - also a week in the Netherlands! They are a cheerful and generous couple who enjoy a good laugh and sharing their experiences...and their dog, Dutchy, became my sweet new best friend.

She gave me my daily chores inside the house, while outdoors was more Cornelis' department. He is very dedicated to holistic health and spirituality, and shared several of his practices with me. We went on walks and bike rides together so I could get familiar with the neighborhoods and see where I might walk Dutchy, though by the end of my stay Dutchy & I were showing new trails to Cornelis!
Each day I took Dutchy for 2 walks. Once we got to know & trust each other, we had a great time, especially in Spain where she could be off-leash most of the time. She is quite attentive, knowing when she needs to stop running about and be put back on-leash. But if she sees a cat or squirrel, all bets are off!
Besides walking Dutchy, my chores were quite varied. I painted furniture, pulled weeds, mended clothes, helped winterize the yard, crocheted rabbits & flowers, organized & cleaned spaces, helped propagate oleander, became a doll doctor, power-washed a patio (muddy fun!), sewed designs onto christmas cards, and helped drive their van from Belgium to Spain. I had my own room, my days off were always the sunniest ones, and visiting other cities was easily done by bike, train or bus.
Thanks to Veerle for always sharing with me interesting history or locales to visit, to Dutchy for enthusiastic greetings each morning, and to Cornelis for indulging my new appreciation for football!

We stayed with Veerle and Cornelis for 4 nights, and from the moment we walked through the front door we felt very welcome. They are both very lovely, friendly and incredibly interesting people. Over our stay we really enjoyed helping them with odd jobs around the garden and the house, such as weeding, general cleaning, organising, cutting

We really enjoyed having a cup of tea with Veerle and Cornelis, and hearing their amazing life stories, talking about philosophy, beekeeping, and Belgium. Their old dog Skippy is very gentle and sweet. Chris enjoyed learning about and practising shiatsu with Cornelis. They were very helpful with suggesting things to do and places to visit. They even drove us to visit their friend who has many beehives which was an amazing experience. We went and saw Ghent and also Bruges, which was easy with the train station so close by. Veerle is an amazing cook, and we felt very lucky and spoilt the whole time. We could have easily stayed for longer, but unfortunately our travel commitments would not allow for this. Thank you very much Veerle and Cornelis, we hope to see you again one day - maybe in Tasmania! We highly recommend this Workaway.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I had a great time with Veerle and Cok, they are fantastic hosts. Generous, super interesting (and interested!), and caring. Veerle is a great cook, and during our walks we had the most amazing conversations. Cok is happy to share his interests, he took me to his yoga and do-in classes, and took me canoeing as well.
The work was pleasant, a good
