We need people who are good at maths and can coach my son a little with it.
Our old farm house needs lots of tender loving care! Set high on the hill, the old place overlooks the big mountains. We are just 2 people, myself and a 17 year old young man who loves to meet new people too.
Lots of things need doing. Landscaping, minor building works, paving, cleaning, organising, clean ups, gardening, carpentry, drainage, plumbing…. renovating windows.
Located near a river and Zurich lake, we love to take the dogs swimming and walking. Push bikes to use to get around. If you like hiking it’s right here on our doorstep!

It’s expected that Workawayers set the table, wash & dry the dishes after every meal, put things away and offer help in meal prep. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen!! As I’ve said preparing meals and cleaning your apartment is in addition to the 5 hours per day 5 days per week.
You’ll need to keep your apartment clean so every 2 days you’ll vacuum, mop, clean the bathroom, toilet etc
7:30 or 8am is the start time for work. No later as it’s good to finish earlier to enjoy the whole of the area and Switzerland.

Right now people who are good at maths would be an absolute bonus!!!
Ive had plenty of experience in renovations but it’s always nice to share tasks and learn new skills. Language exchange (especially German) is a bonus from your side.
It’s important you don’t mind getting your hands dirty as some of the tasks requires getting into it.
Practical skills are essential!

Unterkunft
Mostly you will stay in the apartment unless you would like to sleep elsewhere. The apartment has a bathroom, small fridge etc.
We provide meals and expect all to prepare, clean up, dishes away, keep the kitchen and pedestrian areas clean and everything put away after every meal. The apartment should be cleaned every couple of days. All these tasks are additional to your 5/hrs day.
We eat muesli for breakfast with fresh milk from next door (it’s a dairy). Or porridge too. You can also make cheese and yoghurt too. If you have particular needs for food you can also buy things yourself and keep in the small fridge in the apartment.

Switzerland has extra good public transport. The closest bus stop is a good 10-15 minute walk which then connects you to the train station. By car Zurich and Luzern are about 20 minutes away. Zug is closest being about 10 minutes away.
There’s lots to do from here, swimming, hiking, walks and visiting pretty Swiss cities like Luzern or Rapperswil. It’s really up to you how you want to spend your free time. If you want to know anything just ask us and we’ll do our best to get it sorted😇
