  Hello, we are Maëlle and Julian, a Swiss couple approaching 40. With Vishka, our 2-year-old dog.
  We have the dream of producing good food from the garden for ourselves and our friends, also having a medicinal garden, planting trees, fruit trees and having chickens.
  We have traveled by van until life took us to Vega de Pas, where we found a very beautiful piece of land. overlooking the mountains, 5 minutes from town and on the banks of the Pas river. The land has 1.5ha of meadows and forest with a country cottage to be completely reformed.
  We live in a yurt since abril 2023
  It is the beginning of the project, we have already prepared an orchard and compost, there is water and electricity
  
  Holà, somos Maëlle y Julian, una pareja Suiza acercándonos a los 40. Con Vishka, nuestra perrita de 2 años.
  Tenemos el sueño de producir para nosotros y los amigos, buena comida de la huerta, tener también una huerta medicinal, plantar árboles, frutales y tener gallinas.
  Hemos viajado en furgo hasta que la vida nos llevó a Vega de Pas, donde encontramos un terreno muy bonito. con vista a las montañas, a 5 minutos del pueblo y a la orilla del rio Pas. El terreno cuenta 1.5ha de prados y bosque con una cabaña pasiega para reformar entera.
  Hemos montado una yurta y vivimos a dentro desde abril 2023
  Es el principio del proyecto, tenemos preparado ya, una huerta y el compost, hay agua y electricidad.
  
  Salut, nous sommes Julien et Maëlle. Un couple suisse approchant la quarantaine. Avec Vishka, notre chienne de 2 ans.
  Sur notre terrain nous avons le projet d'un grand potager pour nous et tout le monde qui passera ici, nous aimerions aussi un jardin de plantes medicinal, un verger, et une production de noisettes et de noix. Sans oublier les poules et le tout en permaculture.
  Nous avons voyagé en van jusqu'à ce que la vie nous emmène à Vega de Pas, où nous avons trouvé notre bonheur avec vue sur les montagnes, à 5 minutes du village et au bord de la rivière Pas. Sur le terrain d'un hectares et demi il y a prairies, forêt et une maison en pierre à rénover entièrement.
  Nous avons monter une yourte pour y vivre.
  C'est le début du projet, nous avons déjà un jardin, et le compost.
  Nous avons aussi l'eau et l'électricité.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We can speak both French and Spanish... and English by necessity. We offer you 3 meals a day and we love to share recipes and talks in the kitchen. We are here since few month, so we still have a lot to descover, but the valles pasiegos and Vega de Pas in particular, has many stories, the town has always lived from, and for, its cattle. A few years ago, people still migrated with their animals from cabin to cabin. They were nomads for a large part of the year, that particularity makes us feel in another era here and it is very pleasant. The area is very attractive because of the mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. Biking, hiking, and canyoning are opportunities here. And the Engaña tunnel is 4km from the house. 1hour by car to the south, is the Ojo Guareña, and 1hour to the north, the beautiful Cantabrian beaches.
  We have also traveled and were workawayers as well.
  Julian is a graphic designer 🖌 he likes DIY 🔌🔨 🪓and gardening 🌳🌴🌵 he's a percussionist 🪘🎶 and he wants to have chickens 🐔🐓🐔!
  Me Maëlle, I'm a waitress🍴and a masseuse 👐🫶I also work seasonally🍇 I like herbal medicine 🌿🌺 and I want to have bees 🐝
  We will gladly share the simple and humble knowledge we have 😉
  
  Podemos hablar francés como español para praticar idiomas. Les ofrecemos 3 comidas saludables al dia y nos encanta aprender y compartir recetas y charlas en la cocina. Hace pocos meses que vivimos aquí, todavía no falta mucho para descubrir, pero los Valles pasiegos y Vega de Pas particularmente, tiene muchas historias, el pueblo siempre ha vivido de, y por, su ganado. Hace pocos años, todavia la gente trashumaban con sus animales de cabaña en cabaña. Eran nomadas gran parte del año, esa particularidad nos hace sentir en otra epoca aquí y es muy agradable. La zona es muy atractiva por las montañas, los ríos, y las cascadas. Ciclismo, senderismo, y barranquismo son oportunidades aqui. Y el túnel de la Engaña queda a 4km de la casa. A 1h de coche al sur, esta el Ojo Guareña, y a 1h al norte, las peciosas playas cántabra.

  Julian es diseñador gráfico🖌 le gusta el bricolaje🔌🔨🪓y la jardinería🌳🌴🌵es percussionista🪘🎶 y quiere tener gallinas 🐔🐓🐔!
  Yo Maëlle, soy camarera🍴y masajista 👐🫶también trabajo estacional🍇 me gusta la herbolaria 🌿🌺 y quiero tener abejas 🐝
  Con mucho gusto compartiremos lo simple y humilde conocimiento que tenemos 😉
  
  Nous pouvons parler aussi bien le français que l'espagnol et l'anglais par nécessité. Nous vous offrons 3 repas par jour , nous adorons passer du temps à la cuisine pour partager des recettes et des discussions. Nous sommes arrivés dans la region il y a quelques mois et nous avons encore beaucoup à découvrir. Les Valles pasiegos et Vega de Pas en particulier, a de nombreuses histoires, le village a toujours vécu de et pour son bétail. Il y a quelques années, les gens migraient encore avec leurs animaux de cabane en cabane. Ils étaient nomades une grande partie de l'année, cette particularité nous fait nous sentir ici dans une autre époque et c'est très agréable. La région est très attrayante en raison des montagnes, des rivières et des cascades. Le vélo, la randonnée et le canyoning sont des opportunités ici. Et le tunnel de la Engaña est à 4 km de la maison. A 1h en voiture au sud, se trouve l'Ojo Guareña, et à 1h au nord, les belles plages cantabriques.

  Arbeit

  The projects for the next few months are: setting up the yurt and creating the interior, finishing the fence, installing a gate, moving stones, reassembling the dry stone walls, making firewood, emptying the hut, advancing the vegetable gardens, create a solar water heater, create a dry toilet, create a greenhouse, etc
  
  Los trabajos por estos próximos meses son:crear el interior de la yurta, terminar la valla, instalar portilla, mover piedras, montar muros secos, hacer leña, vaciar la cabaña, avanzar las huertas, crear calentador de agua solar y ducha exterior, crear baño seco, montar el invernadero, hacer un puentecito etc...
  
  Les travaux pour ces prochains mois sont : créer l'intérieur de la yourte, terminer la clôture, installer un portail, déplacer des pierres, remonter les murs en pierre sèches, faire du bois de chauffage, vider la cabane, tout démonter, avancer les potagers, créer un chauffe-eau solaire et une douche exterieur, créer un toilette sèche, monter la serre, faire un petit pont, etc...

  The Meals are vegetarians, and sometimes there is meat or fish.
