  Hello, I live on Belle-Île-en-Mer, a magnificent island!
  
  I'm a baker, with a small bakery equipped with a wood-fired oven and a solar oven, using organic methods.
  
  The summer season is hectic on Belle-Île; I work a lot and I'm passionate about my work. As a result, I don't have time to tend to the garden, prepare meals, or do exterior painting.
  
  Since I often work at night, my schedule is out of sync with the usual routine. That’s why I often sleep at a friend's place just 300 meters away—it allows me to sleep during the afternoon. Because of my odd hours, I don't share many meals with you, but we still find other times to connect!
  
  A few important details:
  - Food is very expensive on the island, so we often plan our meals based on prices; this means we won't necessarily eat according to your personal tastes—it's important to mention that. For example, we rarely buy meat.
  (The comment from a volunteer claiming that food was scarce is completely false: I accommodated her vegetarian diet by buying eggs, tofu, corn cakes, chickpeas, and plenty of things other than just pasta! When she arrived, the cupboards were fully stocked and I regularly shopped for fresh produce; furthermore, I have a weekly subscription for a large basket of organic vegetables. Her expectations regarding food were therefore very high—which is, unfortunately, why I felt the need to add this clarifying note.)
  - The work varies: sometimes it's one thing, sometimes another—working at the bakery, chopping wood, painting a chalet or the house, or sanding down a pergola, for instance. You need to have some energy for it 😉

  Bonjour, j'habite belle île en mer, une île magnifique !
  Je suis boulangère, un petit fournil avec four à bois et four solaire, en bio.
  La saison d'été est dense à belle île, je travaille beaucoup et je suis passionnée par mon métier. Du coup je n'ai pas le temps de m'occuper du jardin, des repas, ou des travaux de peinture exterieurs.
  
  Comme je travaille souvent la nuit, je vis en décalé. C'est pour cette raison que je dors souvent chez mon ami, à 300 mètres de la maison, ainsi je peux dormir l'après midi. Je ne prends pas énormément de repas avec vous en raison du rythme décalé, mais nous avons d'autres moments pour échanger !
  
  Quelques précisions importantes :
  
  - l'alimentation sur l'île coûte très cher donc on fait les plats souvent en fonction des prix (légumes, oeufs pâtes, légumes secs, pâte à pizza du fournil...), donc on ne mangera pas forcément seulement en fonction de vos goûts, c'est important de le préciser. On achète rarement de la viande par exemple.
  ( Le commentaire d'une volontaire disant que la nourriture n'est pas abondante est complètement faux : je me suis adaptée à son régime alimentaire végétarien, lui achetant oeufs, tofu, galettes de maïs, pois chiche et bien d'autres choses que des pâtes! Quand elle est arrivée, les placards étaient pleins et je faisais des courses de frais régulièrement, de plus j'ai un abonnement hebdomadaire à un grand panier de légumes Bio.. Le niveau d'exigence en matière alimentaire était donc très élevé, ce qui m'a amené à apporter ce petit paragraphe de précisions malheureusement)
  - le travail est parfois varié, parfois non : travail à la boulangerie, couper du bois peindre, un chalet ou la maison, poncer une pergola par ex. Il faut avoir un peu d'énergie. Je préfère le préciser.

  I love my island, and I can recommend some beautiful walks and opportunities for friendly gatherings. I can talk about the challenges of island life, but also about the very strong sense of community here. I hosted au pairs a long time ago, and there was a lot of cultural exchange, including sharing recipes and meals! The scenery is breathtaking, and if you enjoy walks along the rugged coastline, you'll be in heaven!

  J'adore mon île, je peux conseiller des belles balades et des moments conviviaux. Parler des contraintes liées à la vie sur une ile, mais aussi à la solidarité très forte ici. J'ai déjà accueilli des jeunes filles au pair il y a longtemps et il y avait eu beaucoup d'échanges culturels, également sur les recettes et les repas! Le paysage est a couper le souffle ici et si vous aimez les balades sur la côte sauvage, vous serez servis!

  Unterkunft

  You can either sleep in a room in the house or in a lovely, comfortable tent.
  
  We can either eat together or you can eat on your own since I'll be at work. In any case, there will always be food in the fridge and fresh bread, as I'm a baker ;-) We enjoy Breton products like buckwheat galettes; I'd be happy to introduce you to them if you haven't tried them.

  Soit vous dormez en chambre dans la maison, soit dans une chouette tente tout confort.
  
  Soit nous mangeons ensemble, soit vous mangez seul car je serai au travail. Dans toutes les situations, il y aura toujours à manger dans le frigo et du pain frais puisque je suis boulangère ;-) Nous apprécions les produits bretons comme les galettes de blé noir, je vous ferai découvrir si vous ne connaissez pas.
