  Beschreibung

  We are Paddy (45) & Mirabai (48), a married couple living on a small acreage in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, 2 hours north of Brisbane.
  
  Our property is a little piece of paradise set in the rolling hills of Maleny. We are developing our land using methods based on the principles of permaculture and syntropic gardening.
  
  We are new to workaway and would be happy to host a workawayer (solo or a couple/pair) in our spare rooms in our house for up to 7 days (longer stays to be negotiated), meals included, in exchange for 5 days of work, 4-5hrs per day / per person.
  
  The work we need help with is mostly outdoor gardening and land management work like clearing weeds & vegetation. We also have painting and handyman work for anyone with some experience. We can provide basic training / guidance along the way:)

  We are well travelled & passionate about art, music, food & nature. Paddy is a professional musician, carpenter/woodworker & home cook and Mirabai is a teacher and avid gardener. We are happy to share our knowledge and skills in these areas. We also have a deep connection to this area - Kabi Kabi / Jinibara country (the Sunshine Coast & hinterland) including Crystal Waters Permaculture Community and would be happy to share local hikes, landmarks, sightseeing or other discoveries.

  Arbeit

  We need help with weeding, clearing and vegetation removal. The work is outdoors, hands-on and physical and requires the use of hand tools (and potentially power equipment if able) and the very sparing & minimal use of an agricultural chemical (weed killer).
  
  We will be available to guide and direct the work. The ability to identify different plants and weeds would be a useful skill but could be soon picked up by a quick leaner.
  
  We also have other types of work such as painting and handyman jobs for the a person with the right skills.

  Unterkunft

  You will be staying in the spare bedroom(s) of our house in Reesville, a few minutes drive from the town of Maleny and under an hour’s drive from the coastal towns of the Sunshine Coast (Caloundra, Maroochydore, Noosa, etc). We have 2 comfy bedrooms and a separate outdoor area to share, well suited to an independent traveller. We like to cook and would be happy to share evening meals.

  The 4-5hrs work per day could be completed in the morning leaving your afternoons free, or vice versa, open to negotiation. There is limited public transport in the area, a car would be helpful. Otherwise we would be happy to assist with local transport.
