  We are a Rights-Centric Democratic Self-Directed Education learning community for young people of all ages, housed on a lovely 2ha plot in North Riding, Johannesburg. Every person is respected and empowered regardless of age, and we solve problems through communication aiming for win-win outcomes.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  A wide variety of South Africans and two Zimbabweans to get to know. They can learn about South Africa, about children's rights, and about Rights-Centric Self-Directed Democratic Education

  Arbeit

  Hanging out with kids and staff and two beautiful therapy dogs during open hours and helping out as we will be packing up materials and equiment prior to moving in 2025. This will be perfect for someone who likes quiet reflection time in between very sociable community time. Shops and a large mall also close by, but on campus it's all birdsong and green space. Large swimming pool, piano (a little out of tune) art room and in-house library. Wifi. Lgbtqia+ friendly and neuroaffirming space. Optional intern training in Self-Directed Education facilitation. We have a zero alcohol, non-smoking and non-vaping space even after hours, many thanks for your respect.

  A modest lockable private bedroom with single bed and cupboard space, shared bathroom with shower nearby, access to kitchen, garden and pool and other facilities etc. We are happy to supply cooked meals or ingredients to cook your own or a combination thereof

  We look foward to getting to know you, beginning with an interview process. Police clearance please, as you will be interacting with young people of various ages. Uber easily available. Must be able to treat young children with kindness and full respect as equals to adults

  Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week, Minimum Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at twice daily dog feeding time. Whatever maximum makes you happy. We are in the space Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 9.30am till between 3 and 5 pm
