  Beschreibung

  We are a family of 5 that just moved from Boston, MA, USA to a French small village, and into a beautiful XIX Chateau. That is, we are trying to move into the Chateau as we are occupying the outbuilding at the moment, while renovating the Chateau.
  The goal is to tackle one room at the time so that we could move into the Chateau in the upcoming months.
  
  We are constantly in awe over the area; a nearby city of Saumur (7km) is full of tourist attractions with spectacular views, and the city of Angers (named the mini Paris in the past) is 37km away.
  
  We don’t speak French but our children are fluent in it. We speak English, Polish and French (children only).
  
  We need help with some work at the Chateau like dusting, cleaning, as well as help with light room renovation (painting, taking down old wallpapers, etc). Also, we are starting a vegetable garden and doing lots of landscaping on the grounds, we could use your help with that as well. This is our first year here so we are learning as we go.

  You can practice English with us, enjoy the French country life as well as the historic Loire Valley, which is on the UNESCO world heritage list. You can experience what is it like to live on a large homestead and what work is involved with a historical property. You can also tour the Chateau and its peaceful surroundings.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for help with various projects in and around the Chateau.
  I would be working alongside most of the time. It would be great if you were very experienced in whatever skills that you are offering to bring, as I would like to learn it from you. I am a very DIY beginner. Our goal is to be able to move into the Chateau in the upcoming months. For example, we need help repainting, winterizing windows, taking down old wallpapers, planting, help around the garden, and many more small projects.
  
  In the future, we are planning to start an bnb (not at the Chateau), and you will NEVER be involved in anything related to it.

  Unterkunft

  We can offer a 3 bedroom newly renovated apartment (pictures will be added when the work is complete) with 1 full bed and 2 single beds in an outbuilding. Ideally looking for a couple or a group of 3/4 people. With time, bedrooms will be available at the Chateau. We cannot give you a car but happy to drive you to Saumur where the train station is (on the weekends). The volunteers will have access to a modern kitchen with a full sized refrigerator. We will take care of the groceries for you. We will provide you with a hot dinner/lunch. Basically, we will make 1 meal a day for you, and you make your own breakfast/lunch, sometimes dinner if we give you a hot lunch. We are NOT vegetarian (although we eat meat rarely), vegan, dairy or gluten free. We are situated on 15 Hectares (mostly woodlands). No smoking allowed inside or outside.

  Train station in Saumur (7km), Angers (37km), Chateau de Saumur, brocante markets, restaurants, movie theater, trampoline park, plenty of wineries around, farmers markets when in season, horse shows (famous Cadre Noir), various museums. All that with a mild winters and pleasant summers.
