  I’m 67 years old and have recently started a whole new chapter in my life: I moved from the Netherlands to the French countryside and bought a house with a large garden of around 1,800 m².
  
  It’s just me, myself and I 😀, and I’m really enjoying creating my new home here.
  
  I have created two comfortable separate guest spaces for friends and Workawayers, so you can have your own space and privacy. There is also room for a tent in the garden and one campervan.
  
  My biggest project now is the garden. It is still very much a blank canvas, and from spring onwards I would love some help turning it into a beautiful, colourful and natural garden. There will be planting, sowing, watering and all kinds of other garden projects. Some help with housekeeping and cooking would also be appreciated.
  
  I eat meat, but I also really enjoy vegetarian food. We can cook together, take turns cooking, or sometimes simply do our own thing. I want the experience to feel relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.
  
  This will be my first experience as a Workaway host, so I’m sure we’ll figure things out together as we go along. 😊 I prefer a minimum stay of 3 weeks, and longer stays are very welcome. A couple would be especially welcome.
  
  There is a friendly community centre just around the corner with lots of activities and opportunities to meet local people. There are also several lakes nearby for swimming and relaxing, and during the summer there are plenty of events and activities in the surrounding villages.
  
  I’m very much looking forward to welcoming my first Workawayers from April 2027 onwards, sharing this new adventure and hopefully having some fun along the way! 🤗🌻🎉🍷

  I am Dutch and quite new to life in France myself, so in a way we can discover French country life together!
  
  I enjoy meeting people from different countries and hearing about their lives, cultures and experiences. I would love to share meals, have coffee or breakfast together in the morning, and have good conversations — but of course there is also plenty of space and privacy when you want it.
  
  I am happy to go out together sometimes, for example to local events, markets or village activities. I love swimming, so in good weather we could go to one of the nearby lakes or to a swimming pool together.
  
  There is also a friendly community centre just around the corner with regular activities and a nice opportunity to meet local people.
  
  Language exchange would be very welcome too. I speak Dutch and English, and I am learning French. So if you speak French, I would love some help practising! And if you would like to learn or practise Dutch or English, I’m happy to help you too.
  
  Most of all, I hope we can learn from each other, share stories, laugh, enjoy the French countryside and make the Workaway experience feel like more than just helping with the garden.

  The main help I’m looking for is in the garden. My garden is quite large — around 1,800 m² — and at the moment it is still very bare, so it’s a wonderful blank canvas!
  
  I’m new to gardening myself, so I would especially love to welcome someone who has some gardening experience and enjoys helping to create a garden from scratch. If you have ideas and like being creative outdoors, even better.
  
  My dream is to gradually create a beautiful, natural and colourful garden with plenty of grass and wildflowers, flowering shrubs both large and small, a few borders and terraces, fruit trees and a vegetable garden.
  
  There will be all kinds of things to do depending on the season: planting, sowing, weeding, watering, pruning, preparing borders, taking care of plants on the balcony and generally helping me make the garden more beautiful.
  
  You certainly don't need to be a professional gardener, but some experience, practical skills and enthusiasm for gardening would be very welcome.
  
  Length of stay: As there is quite a lot to do in the garden, I prefer a stay of at least 3 weeks. Longer stays are very welcome. A couple would be especially welcome, particularly if you enjoy gardening and working on outdoor projects together.
  
  ### Cooking & housekeeping
  
  I would also really enjoy sharing the cooking. For example, if you are a couple, you could prepare dinner twice a week, I could cook once, and on the other days we can either cook together or you can prepare your own meals. When we go grocery shopping together, I will of course provide and pay for the food for your stay.
  
  I love trying different food and would especially enjoy discovering dishes from your country. I eat some kind of meats, but I also really enjoy vegetarian meals.
  
  I would also appreciate some help with general housekeeping, around **4 hours per week**, such as vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, and helping to keep my part of the house clean and tidy.
  
  We can be flexible about how we divide the cooking, gardening and household tasks. I would like this to feel like a friendly exchange rather than a strict schedule.

  Unterkunft

  I can offer two comfortable, private guest apartments, both suitable for a couple.
  
  One apartment is on the top floor/attic of the house. It is bright and spacious with lots of windows and air conditioning. It has a comfortable bedroom, a lovely private bathroom with shower and toilet, a small kitchenette, and a sitting and dining area.
  
  The second guest apartment is on the ground floor. It also has its own bedroom, bathroom with shower and toilet, a small kitchen, Direct acces to the garden. This apartment is also suitable for a couple.
  
  So although we will spend time together, you will have plenty of privacy and your own space during your stay.
  
  If you prefer being outdoors, you are also welcome to bring a tent and stay in the garden, with access to a nearby bathroom and kitchen.
  
  I can also accommodate one campervan, with access to water and electricity. A bathroom, toilet and kitchen are available very close by.
  
  Bed linen and towels are provided.

  We live in a beautiful and peaceful rural area of France, so this is a great place if you enjoy nature, countryside and a slower pace of life.
  
  Having your own car is essential, as there is very little public transport in the area. The nearest supermarkets and shops are about a 15-minute drive away.
  
  There are several lovely lakes in the area where you can swim, walk or simply relax in the summer. There are also many small villages and towns to explore, local markets and plenty of activities and events during the spring and summer months.
  
  Just around the corner from my house there is a friendly community centre with regular activities, as well as a local bar — so although we are in the countryside, you don't have to feel isolated!
  
  You are completely free to explore the area and enjoy your own adventures. And of course, when we feel like it, we can also go somewhere together — for a swim, a coffee, a market or a local event.
