The place (in nahuatl= our land) Is an ecological park dedicated to conservation of flora, local fauna and biocultural patrimonio through the education, investigation, agroecology and sosteinable tourism.

You are going to learn a lot about wild flora and fauna and their management because you will be actively working with them every day. You're also going to get to know the mexican culture, living together daily with the native people and practicing your Spanish. The owner speaks Spanish and English. The work environment is relaxed and fun, you can work at your own pace. You will have the opportunity to enjoy your free time hanging at the house, wandering around the park, getting basic groceries or a bite to eat in the nearby village, or visiting the town of Tenancingo, half an hour away by collective taxi.
Super important! In January we have a huge party of the Village, because the Saint "San Pablito". Is about 10 days of party (from 16 yo 25 January) every day with food in several house, to much welcome people and culture shows. If you want to document this event, please contact us.

Vas a aprender mucho sobre flora y fauna silvestre y su manejo, pues estarás en contacto con ello. Conocerás la cultura mexicana muy de cerca porque trabajarás con personas de la zona y participaremos incluso de sus festividades, podrás practicar tu inglés en caso que recibamos visitantes de otros países.
Todo esto en un lugar hermoso y un muy agradable ambiente de trabajo.
La fiesta del pueblo es Enero y es una fiesta realmente grande que dura 10 días (16-25 enero) cada día se ofrece comida en diferentes casas, y el día 25 una gran comida para Miles de personas. Es interesante para conocer su cultura y organización.
Arbeit
We need all kinds of skills. Some examples:
-painting a mural on our upstairs terrace
-creating content for our fan page (photography, web investigation, graphic design)
-helping with organic production and vermicompost
-caring for wildlife we are rehabilitating on-site
-teaching yoga or leading other workshops to help bring in people from the community
-bioconstruction in the dry season (November-April)
-lesson planning for school visits
-developing program ideas for kids who visit the park
-helping keep the house clean and tidy
-cooking for the other volunteers and workshop guests
-Teaching english for the children of the comunity
-new ideas that you bring to the table!

Unterkunft
Available: A shared bedroom with private complete bathroom in a house (sometimes you may be on your own and sometimes you may have to share with other workawayers).
From workawayer help: This is a beautiful, small bioreserve with sprawling gardens, open spaces, a little river, and tons of plants and animals. In the park there is a big house. The owner lives at the house part-time and has her own room. The volunteers all share a big bedroom which has lots of beds and a bathroom. There is a spacious shared kitchen and living room, a front porch with a table and chairs, and a huge terrace upstairs where you can hang a hammock, do yoga, and take in the view.
All services (water, light, wi-fi). Toilet paper, soap, bedding and towels are included.
Particular parking and lot of space for camping.
Food included: Also fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden.

Una habitación grande con 3 literas (6 camas individuales) y baño completo privado están disponibles para ti (en ocasiones tendrás que compartir con otros workawayer.
La casa cuenta con sala, comedor y cocina, áreas que compartiremos. Contamos con todos los servicios (agua, luz y wi-fi). Papel higiénico, jabón, cobijas, sabanas y toallas están incluidos.
Contamos con estacionamiento y mucho espacio para acampar.

In the park we have all kinds of natural beauty, such as the river, the butterfly garden, etc., but you can also go by bicycle to the village, and we are close to the "magic town" Malinalco (only 40 min).
We also have some guided tours to meet different craftsman like who make the rebozos, licores de frutas and the mezcal and to learn the process to do them.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy your free time hanging at the house, wandering around the park, getting basic groceries or a bite to eat in the nearby town, or visiting "the big city" of Tenancingo, half an hour away by collectivo taxi.________________________________________
Dentro del parque tenemos muchas bellezas naturales, como por ejemplo el mariposario y el río. Pero también puedes ir en bicicleta al pueblo y estamos cerca del pueblo mágico "Malinalco" (40 min).
También contamos con recorridos guiados para conocer artesanos de la zona y la manera en que elaboran sus artesanías (rebozo, mezcal y licor de frutas).
