  Hi, thanks for visiting our profile! I'm excited to welcome you into our home and show you our beautiful corner of the world.
  
  Our household consists of myself (mum) and my two daughters (5 and 10), three dogs, and 12 chickens. I'm looking for flexible help with our animals or entertaining my kids when they're not at school. You can also help with garden work, cooking, and housework.
  
  We love meeting new people and having extra people in the house, and have enjoyed hosting workaways from this site for the past year. While you're here, you'll be a part of our family and we'll do everything we can to help you have a fun and enjoyable stay! We want you to feel comfortable hanging out with us; but, of course, if you prefer to keep to yourself and have some privacy, we will respect your space.
  
  ABOUT THE AREA:
  We live on the coast of Portugal, about an hour north of Lisbon. We're 10 minutes by car from one of the most famous surf towns in Europe! There is surf year-round (although more patchy in July and August).
  
  This is a beautiful part of Portugal and makes a great place for exploring. There is plenty to see and do within an hour of here. Lots of great walks, history, and beaches and nature to explore around here.
  
  We live in a small village with very little public transportation, so it's better if you have a car. You can use my car (manual transmission) when I'm not using it. We do have Uber here, and it's only around 5€ to get to the beach, which is also where all the nightlife is. You can get to major bus stations within 15 minutes, so I can also organize to drop you there if you want to explore further afield.
  
  ABOUT US:
  We try to live a simple life, but it still feels pretty hectic at times! When not working or at school, you can find us at the beach, in the forest, riding horses, playing in the garden, working on our next gardening project, or planning our next adventure. We are always busy because we love enjoying all that this beautiful life has to offer! :)
  
  My kids are well-behaved, creative, independent, and active. They love meeting new people and showing off their animals and hobbies. My kids are fluent in English, Portuguese, and German. They would be happy to teach you some Portuguese and learn words in your language!

  You'll be staying in our spacious home, nestled between the countryside side and beach. We live in the surf capital of Portugal, so it's the perfect place if you're a surfer or want to learn. I have boards and wetsuits you can borrow.
  
  There is also plenty to explore nearby - lots of Roman sites if that's your thing! (It's mine, so I can point you in the right direction).

  Arbeit

  - Animals -
  We have three dogs, and daily walks keep everyone happy! I would also like help with cleaning chicken coops, grooming/brushing the dogs, and helping with our horse if you have experience (horse is in livery, not onsite).
  
  - For childcare -
  I'm looking for someone who is responsible, energetic, enthusiastic about children, and will enjoy going on adventures with my girls. You must also LOVE animals and we have quite a few around, and also spend time at a nearby horse farm.
  
  I'm very flexible with when and how the help is provided. My girls are in school and we have household support in place, but I could use some help bridging the gaps.
  
  - Examples of outdoors and household tasks -
  - Cook meals for us to eat together (if that's something you enjoy - not mandatory)
  - Gardening - weeding, tending to vege garden, watering plants during the summer
  - Light housework - vacuuming, helping with dishes, laundry, etc. (we have household support, so heavy duty cleaning is not required)

  I ask for about 20 hours of work per week in exchange for accommodation and food/meals. We're very flexible so work time can be arranged around your schedule to ensure you can surf, work, and explore as suits you.
  
  I cook quite simple meals and only one hot meal per day during the school year (kids eat at school), so you'll need to fix your own breakfast and lunch, but groceries will be provided. If you prefer to buy your own food, we can reduce the working hours to allow for accommodation only.
  
  I offer a large, bright bedroom on the ground floor of our house (we sleep upstairs) with a private bathroom. The bedroom has two single beds, a desk, and direct access to the garden. I have high-speed internet so you can work here if you need to.
  
  During your stay, I'd like you to feel like you're part of the family. You're welcome to eat meals with us, join us on activities and outings, etc.

  I can accept one dog, but it must be 100% child-friendly and safe. It must also get along well with small dogs. My kids are respectful with animals and my dogs get along well with other dogs. They are both female, so probably a male dog is better.
