I stayed with Sammy and Debi (and the little community on the farm) for 4 weeks this summer and had an incredible experience!
They are among the loveliest and kindest people I have ever met. Right away when Sammy picked me up from the bus station he told me: "Listen, I am very stressed right now during the mango season. But please don't take this
… read more stress on you, just do your share and then enjoy your day." And this is how it was. Sammy was indeed super stressed all the time, but he never put pressure on other people and he always communicated clearly and respectfully. For me this was amazing to see and a stark contrast to other workaways I've experienced before. It was really comfortable to work together with Sammy. Also Debi is super kind and a pleasure to interact with.
I also (mostly) enjoyed the work itself. Usually we started at 6 and then picked mangos for ~3 hours, depending on how many people we were that day. Then there was usually another 1-2 hours of packing or other things, sometimes less. I also enjoyed to join Sammy on his delivery trips when there was a chance, since they were rare opportunities to actually talk to him :)
And of course - the mangos are absolutely amazing! During the season there are so many and you can try all the different varieties they are growing and selling. In addition, there were lots of other fresh fruits and vegetables available for the volunteers. If you appreciate fresh raw food, this is the place to be. I was personally very inspired by the other people living on the farm - they have a lot of knowledge about fruitarianism and raw food. I felt amazing eating so much fresh fruit there and I'm trying to keep up that lifestyle ever since.

Working and living with Sammy, Debi, their three kids, the other volunteers, and Hen, Tom and Noam was a gift. The work was fun and interesting and the mangos were delicious. They are always honest, always make meaningful eye contact, and are always very considerate (one day, I was feeling ill due to the heat, and Debi and Sammy told me I didn't have to work that day, and then checked in with me one day and two days later).

I stayed with Sammy and Debi for a week and it was absolutely amazing! They are some of the sweetest people I have ever met! I stayed with Sami's family for around one week. Me and Sami's employee Chen were working on prunning of mandarin orchard. Then we generaly had a dip in a not far river. The atmosphere was easygoing and I felt fine there. I would sugest for sure to volunteer there and experience to be a farmer.

It's hard to put into words the incredible time I had staying with Sammy and Debi's family. What an experience.
I had planned to stay in Ramot for 2-3 weeks, but ended up staying for 3 months!
These guys are the most generous and kind people I've ever met, and I now consider them my second family.
Everything about their unique way of living felt
… read more just right - their ecological and environmental awareness, natural health approach, sustainable attitude and love for nature, as well as homeschooling and the way they raise their beautiful children.
It was really refreshing to see an alternative to "mainstream living" that actually works, and I've learned so much from that.
The farm is super interesting and a lot is going on. During my stay we worked on various projects - cob house building, organic (permaculture based) agriculture that included work in the Mango plantation and the vegetable garden, eco-pool construction and many more...and while there's a lot to do, the work was always done in a very relaxed and fun way.
I have so much to say about this experience - the people I've met and friends I've made, the beautiful area, the trips around the country we did together, the interesting conversations, the community around the farm and so much more...but the bottom line is: if you're looking for a special place with special people don't think twice, this is it.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

This was the first place we visited on our journey, and in our opinion by far the most accommodating for Fruitarians. Sammy and Debbie are simply wonderful people, full of knowledge regarding health, nutrition (Debbie is both a Naturopath and studied Natural Hygiene), home-schooling (they both worked professionally in education before), they have

Debbie also practices NVC (Non-Violent Communication) with Sammy, the children and basically everyone :) - All of these factors allows for an amazing environment relating to food and a great atmosphere of information sharing and conflict resolution if one ever arises. This means it is a place you can stay for a very long time, which is a very good idea when wandering. Okay, I am going to be straight up here, if you are planning on going to the area of Galilee, you have to volunteer here! especially in summer! Mangoes, mangoes and mangoes, I have never had better mangoes before in my life than at Sammy's and Debi's! They have an amazing mango farm where they grow the most delicious mangoes, and without those

I have spend just over a week at their farm, but it was definitely one of my best workaway experiences and I would've stayed longer if I could've. Sammy and Debi were awesome hosts and made me feel welcome right away. The help consisted mostly of picking mangoes early in the morning before the heat of the day kicked in, which gave us the rest of the day off to enjoy the lake or go explore the surrounding Galilee region.
All summed up; a must if you are going to the region! Thanks Sammy and Debi for hosting me!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Actually there is only one word to convince anybody to come here: Mangoes. Sammy and Debi grow the best mangoes I have ever eaten. Of course that is not all. I stayed with Sammy and Debi for a week and came back to see them another week later. They are some of the kindest and most genuine people I've met!
