Beschreibung
Welcome to our small family-run guesthouse in La Rinconada, Pisac in the heart of the Sacred Valley 🇵🇪
Our place is both: our family home and guesthouse, where we welcome travelers from Peru and around the world.
We are a small family team and we like to keep the atmosphere here warm, relaxed and personal. We enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing meals, exchanging stories and learning from each other.
Our home is surrounded by mountains, gardens and countryside, with beautiful views towards Apu Intihuatana. Pisac town is about a 15–20 minute walk away, or a few minutes by mototaxi.
We speak Spanish, English and Quechua, and we are happy to share our knowledge of the local area, Andean culture, food and everyday life.
For us, a Workaway exchange is not simply about providing a bed in exchange for a few hours of help. We want it to be a genuine cultural exchange and a chance to become part of our household for a while, that's why we expect a commitment for at least 2 weeks so we can have time to share and connect.
At the same time, it is a working guesthouse, so we appreciate volunteers who understand that their contribution is an important part of keeping the place running well.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 🌻
We usually connect best with people who:
* Enjoy living in a family environment
* Are comfortable with a quieter, rural setting
* Like practical, hands-on work
* Have initiative and don't need constant supervision
* Take pride in doing things properly
* Are respectful of shared spaces
* Communicate clearly when they have questions or difficulties
* Are flexible when priorities change
* Enjoy cultural exchange and meeting people from different backgrounds
Previous experience in housekeeping, cooking, social media/content creation, carpentry, maintenance or gardening is a big plus.
You don't need to have experience in all of these areas. Tell us what you are good at and what you would like to work more.
Please be aware
It is a real family home and a working guesthouse. It is not a hotel, resort or a party hostel. We appreciate volunteers who understand that their help is an important contribution to the household and guest experience.
If you are mainly looking for free accommodation while traveling and do not enjoy regular responsibilities, this probably won't be the right Workaway for you.
If you are looking for a genuine exchange, enjoy being useful and would like to become part of a family environment for a few weeks, we would love to hear from you. -

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
One of the things we value most about hosting Workawayers is the opportunity to learn from each other.
You will be sharing part of our everyday family life, rather than staying in a completely separate volunteer accommodation.
We enjoy sharing:
🍲 Home-cooked meals and Peruvian food
🌽 Local ingredients and traditional cooking
🏔️ Knowledge about the Sacred Valley and the surrounding area
🪴 Gardening and caring for the land
🎨 Creative projects and everyday life at the guesthouse
🗣️ Language exchange
🤍 Conversations and time together when everyone's schedule allows
We also love learning from our volunteers. We welcome people from different backgrounds, cultures and professions, and we are always curious about their food, languages, skills, ideas and experiences.
We believe cultural exchange works both ways: you bring something from your world, and you leave with something from ours :)
FOOD & KITCHEN 🍲
Food is part of our shared household routine. Volunteers participate in meal preparation and kitchen responsibilities as part of the exchange. We usually prepare simple and healthy homemade meals and organize food according to the needs of the family and volunteers.
We encourage volunteers to share recipes and foods from their own countries — cooking together is one of our favorite ways to exchange cultures.
If you have dietary restrictions or specific food requirements, please let us know clearly when you contact us so we can discuss whether we are a good match. -
Projekte mit Kindern
Dieses Projekt schließt möglicherweise den Umgang mit Kindern ein. Mehr Informationen findest du in unseren Verhaltensregeln und Tipps hier.

Arbeit
We are looking for hands-on, responsible and proactive Workawayers who enjoy contributing to a family guesthouse.
Our main areas of help are:
🧹 HOUSEKEEPING
This is one of our most important areas. Tasks may include:
* Cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms
* Preparing rooms for new guests
* Changing beds and organizing linens
* Laundry
* Keeping common areas clean and organized
* Helping maintain a welcoming environment for guests
Attention to detail and good organization are especially important here.
🍳 KITCHEN & MEAL PREPARATION
We share a household, so cooking is part of our daily life. Help may include:
* Preparing simple meals for the family and volunteers
* Meal preparation for several days
* Helping buying and organize ingredients
* Keeping the kitchen clean and organized
* Taking turns with cooking and household responsibilities
You don't need to be a professional chef. We appreciate people who are comfortable cooking simple, healthy meals and are willing to contribute to the shared routine.
📱 SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT CREATION
We would love to work with volunteers who have experience or genuine interest in:
* Photography
* Video
* Instagram Reels and Stories
* Short-form content
* Video editing
* Social media planning
* Creative storytelling
The goal is to show the real atmosphere and everyday life, the surrounding area and the experiences available here. If you already have experience creating content, please tell us about it when you apply and share examples of your work if possible.
🔨 CARPENTRY & DIY
We have several ongoing projects around the property. Help may include:
* Small carpentry projects
* Repairing or improving furniture
* Building simple structures
* Working with basic tools
* Creative DIY projects
Previous experience is preferred.
🛠️ GENERAL MAINTENANCE
There is always something to improve in a house and guesthouse. Depending on your skills, this may include:
* Painting
* Small repairs
* Fixing or assembling things
* Organizing storage areas
* General improvements around the property
* Helping us find practical solutions to everyday problems
🌱 GARDENING
Our garden is an important part. Tasks can include:
* Plant care
* Weeding
* Planting
* Cleaning outdoor areas
* General garden maintenance
We especially enjoy having people who don't mind getting their hands dirty and working outdoors. Knowledge in this area is preferred.

⏰ HOURS & ROUTINE
The exchange is 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, with 2 days off.
The exact tasks can change according to guest occupancy, the season and the projects we are working on.
We will explain the routines and responsibilities when you arrive and make sure you understand what needs to be done.
After the initial introduction, however, we expect volunteers to be able to organize their time, take responsibility for their tasks and work independently.
You will always be able to ask questions when something is unclear, but we are not looking for a situation where someone needs continuous instructions throughout the day.
🌟 WHAT MATTERS MOST TO US
You do not need to be an expert in everything. We are more interested in someone who brings useful skills or experience in at least one of our main areas and, above all, is:
* Proactive
* Responsible
* Reliable
* Organized
* Respectful
* Able to work independently
* Willing to learn
* Comfortable communicating openly
We value people who notice what needs to be done and take initiative rather than waiting to be told about every small task.
👉 FIRST WEEK IS A MUTUAL TRIAL PERIOD 🤝
During the first days, we will introduce you and explain our routines and show you how we organize the different tasks. This first week gives us both the opportunity to see whether the exchange is a good fit.
We will look at things such as communication, reliability, respect for the house, ability to follow routines and willingness to take responsibility for your tasks. At the same time, you can decide whether you feel comfortable with our home, our way of working and the type of exchange we offer.
If everything works well for both sides, we continue the exchange as agreed. We believe it is better to be clear about this from the beginning so that everyone knows what to expect. -

YOUR FREE TIME 🌄
You will have 2 days off per week to explore and enjoy the Sacred Valley.
You can use your free days to visit Pisac, hike in the surrounding mountains, explore local markets, visit archaeological sites or travel further around the region. There are also many wellness, yoga and cultural activities available in the Sacred Valley.
We are happy to share recommendations and help you discover places that are less touristy when we can.
OUR LOCATION 🏔️
We are located in a peaceful rural area where you can enjoy nature and mountain views while still being close to town.
You can easily explore:
🌿 Pisac— local market, traditional streets, restaurants and cafés
🏔️ Pisac archaeological site and surrounding hiking trails
🌄 Sacred Valley — Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, Calca and other nearby towns
🌿 Local communities, farms and countryside
🦅 Hiking and nature experiences around the valley
🧘 Yoga, meditation and wellness activities available in the area
There are also plenty of opportunities to explore further during your days off, including Kimsacocha Lake, Cusco city, Lares and other parts of the region.
Because we are outside the main town, life here is quieter and more connected to nature. If you are looking for a place with nightlife right outside the door, this may not be the right environment for you.
If you enjoy mountains, fresh air, gardening, cooking, walking and a slower pace of life, you may feel very much at home here. -
