Beschreibung
In 2020, two young couples with dreams in our hearts and toddlers at our feet embarked on a life-changing adventure – we became the proud owners of a quaint farm nestled by the water in Notodden, Telemark. As we navigate the joys and challenges of farm life in our mid-30s, our goals are clear: to restore and cultivate our land while soaking in the breathtaking nature that surrounds us.
Our diverse backgrounds – a carpenter, an engineer, two actors, a yoga instructor, and an art therapist – blend into a unique tapestry of skills and passions. Together, we are not just building a farm; we are nurturing a family-like atmosphere where love, kindness, and creativity flow freely.
This is our first season hosting work-aways, and we are excited to host, work and learn together.
For this first season, as we are still in our startup, we only have one clamping tent/ aka tipi tent, where we want to host either a couple, two-three friends or a small family of three or four.
You will have an amazing view over the water, your own outdoor kitchen, fire place and free access to our wooden fired sauna right in the water side.
We would love for you to have a flexible schedule (but still work your 25h per week). We would also love to have dinners together every week, but since we are two couples with two toddlers at 1 & 2 years old, we need to be able to be spontaneous, and see which days we can all get together for this.
We provide accommodation and three meals per day.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

We're Seeking Help With:
Eco Projects: Assistance with our ongoing projects. We're at the start of our adventure, and new to farm life and greatly appreciate help from those who are equally passionate or even more knowledgeable about this than we are.
Gardening: Cutting grass, weed removal, and planting. Dive into the essence of farm living and help us grow our dream garden from the ground up.
DIY and Building Projects: we may need help with minor simple repairs around the farmhouse.
Farmstay Help: Tidying up, chopping firewood, and general maintenance.
Babysitting and Creative Play: Engaging our young ones in fun activities if needed.
Cleaning & painting: Maintenance of our small boat if necessary during the periode you’re here. No previous experience needed.
Cooking: Contributing to family meals, a shared experience of cultures and flavors. We will provide three meals per day. Some days we will eat together, and some days we will eat separately depending on our schedules.
Our Expectations:
We would like to have a flexible schedule, and this means that you can start and end the day as works best for you. But we do want you to leave the workspace in a clean and tidy way. We also expect you to work your hours, which is
25 hours per week.
While contributing to the farm’s daily life is enriching, we also expect everyone to clean and tidy up after meals and maintain a neat living environment. This communal effort is not part of the work hours but is essential for our harmonious coexistence. We’re on this journey to learn and grow together, and every pair of hands, heart, and mind enriches our collective experience.
We would like to host 2-3 people at the time. you are already two or three friends, or maybe a couple or a small family? If you’re a single traveler, don’t worry, still please reach out ❣️Gesprochene Sprachen

As a part of our unique farm experience, Workawayers will be staying in a spacious tipi tent that offers a beautiful view of the water. The tent has a 6-meter diameter, comfortably accommodating up to three volunteers at a time, making it an intimate and cozy living space. It has normal beds, a small table and chairs, duvet and pillows (or you can bring your own sleeping bag if this is better for you), a small wooden heating own and a lamp.
Outdoor Kitchen and Dining:
Adjacent to your sleeping quarters, the basic outdoor kitchen is equipped with gas burners, providing everything needed for cooking. We have running water from
The lake in the tab, and drinking water are supplied in a larger container, ensuring you have everything necessary for hydration and meal preparation. An outdoor washing machine is available for laundry needs.
Fire Pit and Social Space:
Your own fire pit is the perfect spot for evening gatherings, storytelling, or simply enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. It’s a place where meals can be shared, experiences exchanged, and memories made under the starlit sky.
Sanitation and Showering Facilities:
An old-fashioned outdoor toilet located in the barn adds to the rustic charm of farm life, while ensuring your comfort and privacy. For showering, a portable USB shower is available outdoors, offering a refreshing and invigorating experience. Alternatively, embracing the natural beauty of our surroundings, you can bathe in the lake and warm up in our wood-fired sauna, turning routine into relaxation.
Food and Meals:
We believe in the joy of sharing meals, creating an opportunity for cultural exchange and fellowship. Workawayers are encouraged to contribute to cooking family meals, where ingredients from our garden and local sources are used as much as possible (unfortunately in may/Juneit will be to early in the season for a lot of the veggies and fruits, but we hope for a small taste of this and that).Etwas mehr Information
