🌿 About our family: We are a Catalan family living near Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). We have a 4-year-old son, Salguer, who is a loving, curious, and very active boy. He loves to paint, draw, play in the park, listen to stories, and engage in imaginative play (playing house, building things, fixing things, etc.). This year we had an au pair, and we really enjoyed the cultural exchange experience and, especially, that our son was able to hear and practice English naturally in his daily life. Starting in August, we would like to welcome someone to our home who wants to live with a local family, share our daily life, and play English with our son for a few hours a day. We are not looking for a full-time nanny, but rather a "big brother/sister" who enjoys spending time with children and wants to be part of our family life during their stay.
⸻ 🏡 What we offer: We offer accommodation in our home, a double room with a private bathroom, meals, and a quiet and welcoming family atmosphere. We live in a pleasant area with parks and children's play areas, and it's well-connected to Barcelona. We value respectful coexistence, sharing everyday moments, and creating a warm and welcoming environment where anyone who comes to stay feels at home.

🌿 Sobre nuestra familia
Somos una familia catalana que vive cerca de Barcelona (Cataluña, España). Tenemos un hijo de 4 años, Salguer, que es un niño cariñoso, curioso y muy activo. Le encanta pintar, dibujar, jugar al parque, escuchar cuentos y hacer juegos simbólicos (cocinitas, construir, arreglar cosas, etc.).
Este año hemos tenido una au pair y nos ha gustado mucho la experiencia de convivencia cultural y, especialmente, que nuestro hijo pudiera escuchar y practicar inglés de forma natural en el día a día.
A partir de agosto nos gustaría acoger en casa a una persona que quiera vivir con una familia local, compartir nuestra vida cotidiana y jugar en inglés con nuestro hijo unas pocas horas al día. No buscamos una niñera a tiempo completo, sino más bien una “hermana/o mayor” que disfrute pasando tiempo con niños y quiera formar parte de la vida familiar durante su estancia.

🏡 Qué ofrecemos
Ofrecemos alojamiento en nuestra casa, habitacion doble, con lavabo exclusivo, comidas y un ambiente familiar tranquilo y cercano. Vivimos en una zona agradable, con parques y espacios para niños, y bien conectada con Barcelona.
Nos gusta la convivencia respetuosa, compartir momentos cotidianos y crear un ambiente cálido donde la persona que venga se sienta como en casa.

In our home, we offer a homestay experience with a Catalan family, where you can get to know our culture, language, and lifestyle firsthand. We speak Catalan and Spanish daily, so you'll have the opportunity to practice both languages in a familiar and authentic setting. We live near Barcelona, in a quiet area with parks, a vibrant neighborhood atmosphere, and good transport links to the city, allowing us to combine family life with the opportunity to explore Catalonia and its surroundings. We enjoy sharing everyday moments such as family meals, walks, activities with our son, and simple weekend plans. We'd also be delighted to share local traditions, cuisine, and customs of our region, and at the same time, we enjoy learning about the culture, language, and experiences of our guests. The main idea is a genuine cultural exchange: living as part of the family, sharing daily life, and learning from each other in a warm, respectful, and relaxed environment.
En nuestra casa ofrecemos una experiencia de convivencia con una familia catalana, donde podrás conocer de cerca nuestra cultura, idioma y estilo de vida. Hablamos catalán y castellano en el día a día, por lo que tendrás la oportunidad de practicar ambos idiomas en un contexto familiar y real.
Vivimos cerca de Barcelona, en una zona tranquila con parques, vida de barrio y buenas conexiones con la ciudad, lo que permite combinar la vida familiar con la posibilidad de descubrir Cataluña y sus alrededores. Nos gusta compartir momentos cotidianos como comidas en familia, paseos, actividades con nuestro hijo y planes sencillos de fin de semana.
También estaremos encantados de mostrarte tradiciones locales, gastronomía y costumbres de nuestra región, y al mismo tiempo nos gusta aprender de la cultura, idioma y experiencias de la persona que venga a casa.
La idea principal es un intercambio cultural auténtico: convivir como parte de la familia, compartir el día a día y aprender mutuamente en un ambiente cercano, respetuoso y tranquilo.

Unterkunft
The volunteer will have a private room in our house, bright and quiet, designed for them to rest and have their own space. The room is furnished with a bed, wardrobe, television, and storage space for their belongings, and includes Wi-Fi. They will also have a bathroom practically for their exclusive use, allowing for greater comfort and privacy on a daily basis. We want our guests to feel at home, always having their own space to rest, study, or have some alone time when needed. We live in a friendly and peaceful environment, and we highly value respect for shared spaces and harmonious living.
La persona voluntaria tendrá una habitación privada dentro de nuestra casa, luminosa y tranquila, pensada para que pueda descansar y tener su propio espacio. La habitación está amueblada con cama, armario, televisión y espacio para guardar sus pertenencias, y cuenta con conexión wifi.
Además, dispondrá de un lavabo prácticamente de uso exclusivo, lo que le permitirá tener mayor comodidad y privacidad en el día a día.
Nos gusta que la persona que venga se sienta como en casa, teniendo siempre su propio espacio para descansar, estudiar o tener tiempo a solas cuando lo necesite. Vivimos en un ambiente familiar y tranquilo, y valoramos mucho el respeto por los espacios comunes y la buena convivencia.
