    Hola amigxs!

I'm Flor, and I'd like to introduce you my little haven that I've been building alongside my boyfriend and a wonderful family of volunteers. A dream that's coming true (thanks to you) in a magical little village on the coast of Oaxaca: Agua Blanca. 🌈

Here, we’re building more than a space, we’re creating a home. A home, where connection, creativity, and growth flow naturally. It’s a place where people from all walks of life come together to share meals, stories, skills, and adventures. We live as a small family, rooted in respect, collaboration, and the joy of simple, intentional living.

    IMAGINE THIS :

🌬️ Sleeping in a palapa with a stunning ocean view
🌿 Living surrounded by nature in our beautiful tropical garden
🐚 Just a 1-minute walk to a beautiful, nearly untouched beach
🏖️ Located in Playa Agua Blanca, only 30 minutes from Puerto Escondido and Mazunte
🎍 Showering outdoors in bamboo showers under banana trees, with the sound of the waves
👨🏽‍🍳 Cooking in an open kitchen with a garden view
🔥 Enjoying magical moments around a bonfire

Whether you’re joining the team to help build, cook, or create (More details in the "Help" section bellow) it’s not just about the work—it’s about being part of a vibrant community. Picture communal dinners, bonfire nights, outdoor movies (yes, we have a projector!), and van trips to explore the hidden gems of the area. And when you're craving some solo time, the nearly virgin beach of Agua Blanca, just 100 meters away, is the perfect spot for peaceful walks, yoga, runs, or even surf sessions.

    WHAT IS THE PROJET ?
Our project is still a work in progress. Since February 2023, we've been building everything ourselves with the help of amazing volunteer teams. We’ve just hit our first big milestone: creating a communal basecamp with all the essentials (electricity, water, kitchen, toilet, showers, the palapa, and a camping area).

But this is just the start! Over the next few years, THE DREAM is to create a multispace dedicated to connection, discovery, creativity, and exchange, where everyone can contribute and learn something new.
The goal is the create a complete ecosystem that offers everything from a place to sleep, to opportunities to learn and eat. A holistic space composed with:
    - a small bed&breakfast (camping, dorm & cabanas)
    - a restaurant + pizza oven
    - communal areas a space dedicated to cooking and language classes, art workshops, dance or yoga classes, conferences, concerts, etc.

Basically, a Community Center where travelers and locals can share knowledge, learn, create, and connect with others and themselves.

If you’re up for this adventure, send me a message. I’d love to chat and see if we’re a good fit!
Wishing you all the best, and may all your dreams come true! "Don’t dream your life, live your dreams!"

    Love, Flor 🌸

Agua Blanca is a charming village on the coast of Oaxaca, nestled along the Pacific shores of Mexico, just 30 minutes away from Puerto Escondido and Mazunte. Still undiscovered by international tourism, it's an excellent locale to immerse yourself in Mexican indigenous culture. The locals primarily speak Spanish, offering you the perfect environment to practice and enhance your language skills. They are warm-hearted and always eager to engage in a chat, and you might even pick up some Zapoteca words, the local indigenous language. For a deeper dive into the community, you can join me in the monthly "Tequio," a longstanding tradition of collective work where everyone comes together to repair roads, clean streets and beaches, or assist a neighbor with construction. It's a beautiful example of community work that truly flourishes!

In essence, helping on the construction is an opportunity to learn through hands-on experience, exchanging opinions and knowledge, proposing ideas, making mistakes, and giving your best! Mexico is a magical country, and Agua Blanca is a paradise of its own. It's a perfect place for introspective travel. Here, you'll encounter special and beautiful people, gaining insights not only into working and Mexican culture but also fostering personal growth.

Lastly, you'll be contributing to the establishment of a new Community centre for Agua Blanca and its visitors—a home for sharing, creating, and evolving together! Your assistance holds immense value for me and the community, and I want you to know that I'm filled with gratitude for your involvement! 🫶🏻

One of the things I love most about the place is that it’s been built mostly by us, with the help of incredible people who’ve passed through and left their mark, just like you! Every corner here tells a story : beautiful connections we’ve made, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the lessons we’ve learned together. It’s an ongoing journey that makes this place so special, a collaborative project shaped by the love, energy, and memories everyone leaves behind.

    CONSTRUCTION & CREATIVE PROJECTS 🔨🎨

Since our work evolves with the seasons, it’s tough to predict exactly what we’ll be working on during your visit. From woodworking and gardening to bio-construction, art, plumbing, and beyond, there’s always something exciting happening. As your arrival gets closer, I’ll share more about the specific projects on the horizon.

We’re looking for a minimum stay of 3 WEEKS because we’re building more than just a project—we’re creating a little family. It’s important for us to take the time to get to know each other, connect deeply, and truly share in this experience together. Shorter stays just don’t capture the magic we’re creating here!

    ARE YOU :
    • A carpenter or skilled in woodworking?
    • Passionate about earth construction ?
    • Not afraid to get your hands dirty and dive into some hands-on work?
    • Plant lover with a green thumb? Help us shape our tropical paradise!
    • A design genius who wants to craft our visual identity (logo, graphical charter) ?
    • Social media wizard who can make our little piece of heaven go viral?
    • Passionate about painting? Come create signage !
    • A musician who loves creating atmosphere? Come and set the tone
    • Master in the kitchen who loves cooking for a crowd?

That said, if you’ve got an idea or a dream project you’ve always wanted to build or create, let me know! Who knows? Maybe we can bring it to life together.

We usually work on projects Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to around 1:00 PM. But it’s not just about the work—it’s about empowering each other, creating something meaningful, and leaving your own footprint. It’s a chance to challenge yourself, grow, share knowledge, and connect in ways that make this experience unforgettable.

    LAND GUARDIAN WANTED 🏡

As I juggle between constructing this dream and securing funds in Europe, until January 10th, I won’t be here,.. B ut the family vibe and organization will remain the same. . I'm searching a little group of volunteers (4-5) to sprinkle love and care on the land during my absence. . I’ve also left some small projects, woodworking, and DIY activities that you could work on throughout the week.

It’s very important for me to find people who share the same vision and continue building our little community just as it is now. So, please send me a message introducing yourself and explaining a bit about your motivations for joining our family and what you could contribute to our project (your experiences and skills).

Note : Can you drive a car or bike, and would you consider renting one? Agua Blanca is quite remote, so having your own transportation for groceries and getting around might be helpful (see the "HOW TO MOVE AROUND?" section).

    FAMILY MEALS 🍳✨

Food is not part of the deal, but instead of cooking all separately, we organize family meals. And these moments are truly the heart of our community—a special time to come together and share meaningful moments. We follow a rotating schedule so everyone gets a chance to bring their kitchen magic to the table.

    SWEET DREAMS
    - You'll get to sleep in the Palapa Dorm, a traditional open-air space with stunning ocean views. Sleep under a mosquito net, feel the breeze, and share the space dorm-style with others. We will provide you with a mattress, pillows, sheets and a mosquito net.
    - Enjoy more privacy in your own tent fully equipped.
Please let me know if you are travelling with your own camping gears !
    - Got your own camper van? Fantastic! We've set aside a special space just for it on our land.

    CHILL AREA
Relax on the dock of the palapa. This cozy hangout spot offers breathtaking views of the ocean and the most beautiful sunsets—a perfect place to unwind, read, or just soak in the peaceful vibes.

    STORAGE
We don’t have lockers yet, but honestly, it’s such a safe village—we’ve never had any problems.
When you arrive, you'll get a basket (that you can label with your name), where you can store your breakfast items, snacks, or personal stuff (like sunscreen or books)

    SHARED KITCHEN & DINING SPACE
Our semi-equipped kitchen (no oven) has all the essentials and opens into the dining area, featuring a large shared table that’s hosted up to 13 people! A spacious fridge is available to store ingredients for our delicious family-style meals.

    FIRE PIT AREA
A super nice fire pit area for our night talks under the stars and other BBQs.

    SHOWERS & TOILET
We have three showers: two semi-outdoor with views of nature, and everyone’s favorite—the fully outdoor bamboo shower, perfect for starlit rinses. We also have a new flush toilet connected to an eco-friendly biodigester, a small but exciting step forward!

    HOW TO GET HERE ?

Exploration along the coast of Oaxaca is quite easy with buses and colectivos (shared taxis) - all conveniently hailed along the main coastal road (Hwy 200). Keep an eye out for the destination written on their windshields. From Puerto Escondido, catch a bus headed to ''Pochutla'' (passing by approximately every 30 minutes from 7 AM to 7 PM) and kindly ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Agua Blanca (fare: 45 pesos). From there, it's a 15-20 minute walk.

WHAT TO DO IN YOUR TIME OFF ?

Life in Agua Blanca embraces simplicity, encouraging you to slow down and sync with the rhythm of nature. But don't mistake it for a dull experience—there's plenty to keep you engaged! Working on the project with us is not just about hard work. It's also about building a vibrant community. Picture delicious communal dinners, bonfire nights, parties at the neighbors' house, and outdoor cinema with your favorite movies (yes, we have a projector). Plus, we love to travel around in our nifty van, exploring the hidden gems of the area. And when you're craving some solo time, the nearly virgin beach of Agua Blanca, just 100 meters away, is the perfect spot for peaceful walks, yoga, runs, or even surf sessions.

    MUST DO'S IN THE AREA

    🏖️ For Beach Lovers:
The Oaxacan coast is a paradise for beach enthusiasts, boasting miles of stunning beaches set against the backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains. From Agua Blanca, take a day trip to explore fishing villages and charming beach towns like Mazunte (bohemian spirit), Zipolite (famous for nude beaches), Puerto Angel (excellent for snorkeling), Carrizalillo, Baccocho & Playa Coral, Roca Blanca, and much more.

    🏄 Wave Catchers Unite:
Puerto Escondido is world-famous for surfing, but it’s getting increasingly crowded with many surfers vying for the same waves. That’s why smaller villages like Agua Blanca are a real gem for those seeking secret, less crowded spots.
Agua Blanca is perfect for experienced surfers who enjoy a challenge, but it’s not ideal for beginners. Keep in mind there are no board rentals here, so you’ll need to bring your own. Depending on the season, you may have to chase waves at other spots nearby, within a 10 to 30-minute drive. Having your own bike or car is essential to explore these hidden spots.

    🏞️ For Mountain Lovers:
The Oaxaca coast offers more than just beaches and surf ! Experience the breathtaking transformation of landscapes just a short drive away—from beach vibes to lush tropical low mountain forests with beautiful rivers, lagoons, and even warm baths. Personally, I'm a big fan of these untouched areas where local life remains unaffected by tourism, allowing you to unwind to the serene sounds of the river. Yes, you can tell, I'm in love!

    🍲 Food Exploration:
Dive into the delights of Mexican cuisine—a definite must-do! Notably, Agua Blanca is famed for its freshly picked oysters.

    🦩 Wildlife Adventure:
Explore the rich wildlife of Oaxaca's coastline, a crucial sea turtle nesting zone. Witness the awe-inspiring arribada or join a baby sea turtle release. Visit the Ventanilla Lagoon, a habitat for migratory and native birds, crocodiles, iguanas, and more. From December to March, catch a glimpse of whale families along the coast.

    🌌 Bioluminescent Wonder:
Near Puerto Escondido, discover Laguna de Manialtepec. During specific times, especially around the new moon, swim with glowing organisms in the warm, dark waters, creating a magical experience under the stars.

    HOW TO MOVE AROUND?

    * For Food & Groceries (and Daily Needs) 🌮🥑:

While Agua Blanca exudes charm, it's also wonderfully remote. To optimize your time here, we organize weekly communal grocery trips to Puerto Escondido. This ensures a well-stocked communal kitchen for shared meals and minimizes individual trips for daily needs.
But for your extra or personal needs, keep in mind that Agua Blanca is a "growing" small village still with very limited amenities (accessible between 5 and 20 min. walking) : 3 local shops offering basic groceries (some veggies, dry food, canned goods, and drinks), seafood restaurants (with a somewhat "expensive" menu), and two local "comedores" serving tacos, tortas, and other local street food (inexpensive but mostly meat-based).
For more grocery/food options, you'll have to make your way to Santa Elena (10 min. by driving), Puerto Escondido (30 min), or Pochutla (a 40 min).
To get to these places, you'll have to walk to the village entrance (approx 20 minutes from the land), where you can catch a bus passing by approximately every 30 minutes from 7 AM to 7 PM.

    * For more Adventures 🏄‍♂️🏞️ :
We loooove sharing exciting adventures with our guests, guiding you to discover hidden natural gems, joining the lively scene in Puerto for a night out, or simply relishing an afternoon at a nearby beach or river.

But If you're keen on more independent exploration, be mindful of the bus schedule, with the last trip around 7 PM on the main Puerto Escondido - Pochutla route.

🚀✨ In conclusion, for those planning an extended stay, seeking flexibility, independence, and a desire to explore further (surf spots or delve deeper into the area), renting a bike or car could be a fantastic idea to unlock the best experiences!

Connected, but not online ! We don’t have internet here. We’ve chosen to keep it offline because we believe that being unplugged helps us to truly connect—with each other, ourselves, and the nature around us. It’s all about being present and having a deeper experience. That said, we know staying in touch is important, so if you need to get online, there are various places nearby in the village (within less than 5 minutes walking distance).
