Doug and Gudrun are amazing hosts. They will make sure you've got everything you need and are very respectful. We loved working in the forest where Doug has put his heart and soul in creating a lovely space with interesting projects to work on. Gudrun's cuisine as well as being tasty is very healthy. We enjoyed our time with Katie. She is a hard worker, works well independently and was comfortable spending time on her own exploring the area. So where to start... I'm sure there are no words to describe my experience with Gudrun, Doug and their georgeous dog Ike, spending a week at their beautiful home in the most wonderful of places. If I only knew what it was going to be like, I would for sure have redrawn my plans ahead, and stayed longer. I can't just remember last time I felt so

Starting out with the impressive surrounding; nature, the river, the mountains and forests. I immediately felt I was going to have a good the stay, and when getting to know Gudrun and Doug, this was just guaranteed. They were so nice people, and such a nice couple. Both with a strong work ethic, but warmhearted and genuine people. And of course, Ike, the finest and most well behaving dog I have ever met.
In the days I would mostly work together with Doug. We would dig drainage ditches and make paths in the garden, among other things. Doug is a hard-working man, and since I also enjoy getting my fingers dirty, we would do good together. Nevertheless, I would have plenty of time for long walks (both alone and with Ike) and for two spectacular hikes in the mountains surrounding the Columbia river. Gudrun would cook us the most delicious dinners each night and I was literally looking forward to it every day. We would also share stories and have fun together, building up a nice, mutual relationship. Sleeping in the van was a experience itself. It was cozy, comfortable and felt so genuine, I really enjoyed it.
It is a fact, that the worst part was leaving, but I am full of photos, memories and gratitude, that I will preserve in my heart for good. For anyone who likes to work hard, and at the same time is seeking for a place to find peace and inspiration close to nature, I can nothing but recommend this place. I cannot wait to go back.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
