  Young, fun loving family in the heart of Nimes looking for help with minor house improvements and decoration. In exchange you will have a private apartment within the house, which is 10 minutes walk from the Roman centre of Nimes. Autumn is the perfect time to come and explore this wonderful town and a great location to explore the Languedoc region of France. Mum (31) and young son (2) would love to welcome you to the house, dad (39) works mostly overseas. Oh and not to forget Louis and Coco our 2 super friendly French Bulldogs.

  We speak English at home, with improving French, so this could be perfect opportunity to practice either language. We enjoy eating good home cooked food, often with local produce, and of course French wine, and enjoying the outdoors whenever possible. What we enjoy most is the ability to wander in to the centre of lovely Nimes, which you'll have plenty of time to do during your stay.

  Arbeit

  Over the last 2 years we have updated and renovated a lovely family house in Nimes, including a separate dependence/granny flat. All of the major works now complete, we just need help with the finishing touches, mainly painting and decorating. We're not looking for professional standard, just someone with modest DIY/decorating skills, a good eye for detail and prepared to work for a few hours each day.

  The house is set up perfectly for you to come and join us for a short working holiday- the dependence within the house is entirely self contained; bedroom, bathroom, lounge, kitchen, private entrance and terrace. You can have as much privacy as you want during your stay.
  Ideally, we are looking for someone to help for 5 to10 days, 4-5 hours each day, during which we'll provide hearty meals, a few drinks and accommodation, at the end of that working week you are welcome to stay on for a few days to explore the area further at your leisure. Would be well suited to a single person or couple travelling together as there is plenty of space.

  Our home sits on the edge of the peaceful Bois des Espeisses park, only 10 minutes walk from the heart of Nimes, a hidden gem in the South of France which boasts the stunning Jardin de la Fontaine, France's oldest public gardens; the Arene thought to be Europe's best preserved amphitheatre; the newly opened Musee de la Romainite; modern art museum Carre d'Art and numerous other galleries. Include plenty of great bars, restaurants and open spaces and Nimes has everything you could wish for on a short visit, particularly in autumn when the temperatures are typically in the low-mid 20s.
  Nimes has an airport with daily flights to London and regularly to other locations with Ryanair; Montpellier, Marseille and Bezier airports are also accessible. The town also boasts a TGV station, with outstanding train links to Montpellier, Lyon, Paris, Carcassonne and Barcelona.
  Within around 30 minutes of the town you have the Unesco site Pont du Gard, beautiful towns of Avignon, Arles, Uzes and more, plus the bright lights of Montpellier and the beautiful Mediterranean beaches.
  We are pretty relaxed, once the jobs are taken care of you are free to come and go as you please, to join us for a chat and a glass of wine or just chill in your own space.
