We had an absolutely lovely time with Christine and in her big farm house with so much potential for the future.
She is super friendly and will go above and beyond to make you feel at home and have everything you need (and more).
We also had a lot of interesting and humorous conversations.
The work was mostly renovation and other different various

Thank you for your hospitality Christine.
I am very grateful to Kim and Fahimeh. In the time they were there, they helped to prepare a large room so that it could be used again. That was a really big help. You can tell that the two of them are a good team, because they work hand in hand without saying much. You could also tell that they are skilled and already had renovation experience,

This was my first experience with work away, and I absolutely loved it. It was a pleasure to get to know Christine and her farmhouse. It's always a pleasure to meet like-minded people or not. Roxie was here for 5 days and during that time we had very interesting conversations about all sorts of things. She has taken on painting jobs on her own. She is very creative and it was helpful to talk to her about design ideas for the courtyard because she gave good input. The food she

Roxie is a very trustworthy, cheerful and inspiring person. It's just fun to spend time with her. At the end it felt like a friend was leaving. I would welcome her back anytime.

I spent a wonderful week at Christine's farm here in mid December. From the moment I arrived Christine made me feel very welcome, introducing us to many of her friends and family in the nearby villages as well. The food was always fantastic, I especially loved the bread! We would all share the cooking, often cooking together as well, and had the opportunity to taste many traditional dishes, such as the classic sauerkraut and sausage.
The work was varied and enjoyable, from digging a trench for a hedge, to building a stack of straw bales to help insulate one of the upstairs rooms. Christine has an excellent vision for her place, and was always very communicative with us, discussing with us what we thought the best ways were to help her achieve these goals.
I will always remember the joy and laughter we shared during my week there, and look forward to seeing how the place develops in the future! :)Vom Host für Workawayer (David)
It was a great pleasure to have Dave here for support. He got on very well with the other workaway helper who was there at the same time. The two of them worked really well together. They helped move straw to better insulate the house, dug a trench and planted the plants for a hedge and put up a creative fence of clover sticks. Creating the hedge
… read more was not easy at times. We had to rely on help and had to keep adjusting our plans. Dave had the special quality of remaining calm in the midst of these changes of plan. That was very helpful. He wasn't afraid to lend a hand and work hard.
In the evenings, we took turns cooking, playing board games or doing jigsaw puzzles together. Dave is a real puzzle master. I also enjoyed hearing about his travelling experiences.
What I liked most was that we laughed so much during our time together. Sometimes I was in tears from laughing so hard. There was so much joy in the house. That was great.Feedback

This was undoubtedly the best Workaway experience I've had. Christine and her friends made me feel at home from the very beginning. Rafael was on the farm for a week. He was very friendly, helpful and actively involved in the household. During the week he cooked for us, painted a room and mowed the lawn. My son Phillip, a friend of his and I spent 8 days at Christine's farm. It was a great week for us. Christine provided us with plenty of food and I love cooking for lots of people. The weather was great and we were able to eat outside in the courtyard every day. As we live in Berlin, we really enjoyed this.
The boys went cycling and explored the
… read more swimming pool in the neighbouring town. And on one afternoon we went to an ancient lake by car. A really special place. In the evening, we sat around the fire bowl and told each other stories.
While we were there, we helped clear out part of the barn and move firewood. The boys had fun testing their strength. All in all, it was a great week for us. We can imagine going back again.

My partner and I visited Christine for a full week to help her with some stuff on the premises and do some hiking in between. We felt immediately at home at her parents' former farm, which she is beginning to turn into a place where people can come together and do cultural, healthy, and maybe also spiritual things.
When we arrived, we sat
… read more together with tea and Christine listed a number of things we could help her with and hiking tours we could do on other days. We opted for some craft activities and some heavy lifting. Some other things we said we'd rather not want to do, and that was perfectly fine with Christine.
In the days to come, the three of us started the day with a rich breakfast (in my case vegan, which was not an issue at all) and then started working together for some hours, then ate a salad and some whole bread, worked again for some hours, had tea together, and finally cooked a nice dinner and sometimes sat together around a small fire in the patio below Christine's row of Nepalese prayer flags.
Making good use of my partner's crafting skills, we repaired the barn door's lock and constructed some window panes.
In terms of the heavier type of work, we cleared the former barn of some garbage, sorted through some wooden beams that lay around, selected some of them that we would then use to close a big whole in the barn's gable to protect the roof from storms, took down a large surface of cardboard paneling from a wall to set free the beautiful wood below it, removed some unnecessary and half-broken beams from the patio's gallery to give it a lighter and more elegant look. All that was big fun for someone like me who spends his days at a computer otherwise!
Finally, we also spent an afternoon harvesting what felt like thousands of apples from some ancient trees in her fruit orchard.
Our week at Christine's place was made into a wholesome experience by two intermediate days of hiking in beautiful Frankonia, and spending an evening in a thermal bath and sauna in a neighboring village.
Christine is a very warmhearted host, speaks perfect English and has a clear and respectful way of communicating, and is always open for suggestions. We will probably return to her place next year! And not to forget: the apples are delicious :-)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
