We are looking those who enjoy nature, animals and meeting new people. Most guests who visit us in summer are on their way to or back from the Nord Cape. They usually visit for one night to experience our unique accommodation and cuddle our furry friends. Any outdoor lover would enjoy their time in Alta with its wide range of opportunities in nature. A car is shared between the staff. We have a lot of equipment (tents, sleeping bags, hiking equipment etc.) available for all staff. In addition to this all staff are offered a gym membership with climbing, pool and spa facilities.

Due to the time it takes to learn working with the dogs, facilities and equipment we look for people who can stay a minimum of 45 days. We are offering food and accommodation for the summer season to all our Workawayers.

    Autumn/Winter season: September-April

For the autumn/winter season we are looking for people who want to spend longer time with the lifestyle of taking care of sled dogs and guests from all over the world. We offer food and accommodation for the first 3 training months (September, October, November) and paid positions from December-April. In the autumn you'll be learning everything about the dogs, rutines, equipment and facilities. When temperatures drop in September we start training all our dogs with dog carts and ATV's until they are ready to welcome guests out on dog cart tours - normally in the end of September. When we have enough snow (normally in November) we start going on sled tours. Through the winter season we offer a variety of dog sledding excursions.

Most guests who visit us in Autumn and Winter come to experience the Northern Lights and husky excursions. Any outdoor lover would enjoy their time in Alta with its wide range of opportunities in nature. A car is shared between the staff. ------------------------------------

Sled dogs, and the nature experiences that come with it, is more than a hobby for us, it’s a lifestyle. We live and breathe it. Whether we are heading out into the wilderness with a team of dogs or taking our guest on a tour around the dogyard. It’s a lifestyle that takes you close to nature and its extremes, both in terms of weather and beauty.

Our Husky farm is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced.

Now we wish to let our guests get a taste of what we fell in love with, both on and off the sled. We welcome you to our home here and our way of living.

This is a place for both relaxation and adventure. Whether you dream of watching the Northern Lights from the comfort of a warm bed or exploring nature with a team of huskies.

Staying and working here will teach you a great deal about animals and nature. Taking care of approximately 100 Alaskan huskies is no easy task, you will learn a whole lot about body language, patience and communication. Watering, feeding and training the dogs will challenge you both physically and mentally as it takes place outside in all sorts of weather conditions. Dog sledding in the winter season can be challenging with temperatures below -25 celcius. You will learn survival techniques and first aid in arctic conditions.
From past experience we see that the biggest benefit for people working here is challenging them selves and their comfort zone in a new way.
