My name is Remon and we are a family run eco lodge in central Sri Lanka that focuses on reforestation and community development. We are a Dutch/Sri Lankan family who love nature, animals and improving the lives of the locals.
We let the local villagers be at the forefront of the operations and allow them to take care of our guests during their stay.
We focus on trekking, community interaction, sustainability, reforestation, yoga and giving guests the best of village culture and nature in a responsible and simple way.

You will learn how genuine ecotourism is practised in a jungle through reforestation and using sustainable methods. You will experience the importance of working in a team and how to work in a traditional Sri Lankan village culture. You will also experience how to live a simple life and giving back to nature and the local community.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with ideas who are willing to give back to the community via English lessons and support our reforestation efforts. Your involvement will help our villagers work with different cultures and new ideas.
We are looking for like-minded people who share our love for nature, speak English and love working in a team. If you can speak an additional language such as French or can teach Yoga that would be an added bonus. You will be a big part of our Forest Healing Foundation i.e. planting, watering and maintaining our newly planted trees, assisting our marketing efforts, teaching the villagers/students English and interacting with our guests.
You will spend your mornings checking on our newly planted trees followed by an English lesson to our staff and local villagers (not more than 6 at a time). Throughout the day you will be doing some marketing by handling our social media channels and interacting with our guests. Furthermore, you will also assist with any gardening and general maintenance of the property.
English, Dutch, Sinhalese, limited German and limited Swedish
Accommodation will be given free at Sandiya's homestay which is nearby (400. from us) with attached bathrooms. You will share a room and a bathroom with potentially 3 other volunteers. Although you will have a separate balcony, room and toilet you will live with a traditional Sri Lankan family which is a great experience.
Internet is available and all 3 meals will be given free of charge.
You will be helping 5 hours per day, 5 times a week but those hours could be spread throughout the day. For example, you could be doing 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon depending on the help needed. This will always be discussed beforehand.
It will be a learning experience that will contribute towards a great cause.
