  My name is Daniel, I am Indigenous Australia and live in a beautiful location on the South Coast of NSW. I love nature and Im passionate about restoring health to Australian flora and fauna through Indigenous practice. I admire the way nature works and believe we as humans have so much to learn from these unique symbolic patterns and cycles, I also believe when it comes to western science Indigenous knowledge is a thousand years ahead, knowledge that’s never lost, it just locked away in nature waiting to be revealed once we learn to read landscape cycles and patterns again. I work for Firesticks Alliance Indigenous Corporation and currently delivering a partnership program involving community and multiple agency stakeholders with the outcome to protect and enhance the habitat of a small and fragile koala population located here on the south coast of NSW by combining Indigenous landscape knowledge and practice and modern day technology

  I can teach about local Aboriginal culture and traditional land practices . The basic on how traditional land management works and how to identify different flora and fauna ecosystems. This is what we refer to as different country types. Can give a better understanding of why we have such high social issues Within our communities and can explain how these issues can be turned around through cultural practice
  
  The ocean has always been part of my life so in my spare time , I can also teach ocean activities such as surfing, fishing, boating and snorkelling. We can also go looking for traditional foods, including seafood, bush foods such as berries and different plant use but depending on time of year and type of season experiencing at the time of your visit.
  But most of all I really like the social aspect that workaway has to offer by being a host. I like meeting different people and learning from each about their culture and different life styles. I’m a practical learner and teacher so by having the opportunity to meet different people and engaging via conversation and doing, teachers me a lot, by giving me a different Perspective and appreciation about life in general. Similar to a mutual or symbiosis relationship that happens within nature, where one receives by giving. By practicing what we learn from nature and implement it within my life and social structure then i feel that I’m already playing my part. If this makes any sense?????

  Arbeit

  I work full-time so always need some help around the house with daily maintenance and odd jobs. There will be opportunities within the project to come out and help as a volunteer depending on whats happening at the time. To be involved you will need to first sign a Voluntary agreement form. At the moment experimenting with the use of Thermal Imaging equipment to locate koala and other wildlife populations and habitat

  Unterkunft

  I live alone in a house opposite a beautiful beach. My house is quite spacious so Guest have there own room and the rest of the house is shared. There are plenty of places for privacy to relax and have some quiet time other than your room. Food is generally supplied but this will depends on the arrangement, Im easy going so I'm happy to Negotiate working arrangements. I work full time so it’s convenient for me if visitors cook meals now and then but it's not essential. I can sometimes accommodate two guests when traveling together but depends on my work situation at the time as I find it a bit more time consuming to host 2 guests but at times I'm open for this
