  Beschreibung

  We are Arno and Anggie, a Dutch-Indonesian couple located in the Minahasa Highlands, Indonesia. We run a resort in a natural setting, yet still on the edge of a bustling mountain city. The Highlands and the greater Minahasa region of North Sulawesi, are uniquely diverse and tolerant parts of Indonesia. Tourists visit this region to hike volcanoes, explore waterfalls, immerse themselves in the local culture, go birdwatching, and much more.
  
  Our team consists of a cook, an assistant manager, a gardener, a night watchman and multiple waiters/housekeepers.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We are located in a tight-knit community where cultural participation is encouraged and appreciated. Think of weddings, funerals, cultural and religious holidays, and more. We also frequently welcome visitors from the local community and have many local friends who enjoy connecting with people from abroad.
  
  At our resort, you will have the opportunity to learn how to implement eco-projects in a tropical country and collaborate with local people from the area. You will also be able to learn Indonesian by speaking with our staff, with us, and with the local community. Indonesian is surprisingly easy to learn if you set your mind to it, and a combination of Duolingo and real-life practice can go a long way.
  
  We hope to discover new ways to make our resort more sustainable and to share knowledge gained from hosting volunteers.

  Arbeit

  We are a small resort with a strong focus on sustainability and are looking for volunteers to help us expand our sustainability efforts. From creative initiatives to practical applications, we welcome ideas and implementations related to sustainability.
  
  You will be able to work by yourself and also can count on help of local builders and our gardener.

  Unterkunft

  You will be staying in one of our bungalows, which is typically rented out to guests. It faces a large volcano and features large windows on both sides. The bungalow includes a bathroom with a hot-water shower and a Western-style toilet.
  
  We do not have air conditioning, as we are located in the mountains, where nighttime temperatures do not exceed 21 degrees Celsius.
  
  You will receive 3 meals a day. Vegetarian and vegan options. For dinner can order meal from the resort's restaurant menu.

  During your time here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural and cultural beauty of the surrounding area. You can use one of our motorbikes, depending on availability, and transportation apps make it easy to get around.
  
  From our resort, it takes just two hours to reach small islands like Bunaken for a weekend of snorkeling or diving. You can also visit national parks and explore a variety of other highlights in North Sulawesi.
