Vom Workawayer (Sumaya) für Host
I stayed two weeks at the farm and I really enjoyed their warm and open atmosphere. I lived in a hut in the fields together with an other young worker of their business. Erez and his workers are arborists and therefor I mostly worked alone or together with his teenaged kids. I got different jobs. For example weeding, painting of a wall, harvesting
… read more of carob beans and in the first week to herd sheeps a few hours in the morning. In the afternoon it was quite easy to get to the beach (~30min by bike). Because the farm is a little bit off the beaten track it was not that easy to reach other places without own car, but the

I will keep may stay with Erez in good memory. He and his wife, they are warm and uncomplicated people :-) they also invited me also to a family-meal (jewish feast), which i enjoyed much and found very gentle of them. It was my first workaway experience in Israel and i liked the work with the sheep a lot. Erez and his co-workers on the farm work
… read more hard, i think, and so it also happened one or two times, that i had to remember Erez, when my working-time is over... but this is no problem, because he cares about you and likes clear comunication i think. In my stay he also offered, that i could go for a travel for a few days and come back... so he is usualy uncomplicated. I can realy recomend the work on this farm. At the Farm is always a welcoming atmosphere. During our stay there were always warm-hearted people around who offered their help in any duty and we could always ask them about everything.
The work with the sheeps is routine but it’s a lot of fun.

The work was absolutely doable and we had lots of fun actually!
You wouldnt want to point out specific things that went very well because the biggest influence for making this volunteering so great and so perfect was the way people (and animals haha) welcomed, appreciated and treated you. Which was just so lovely, honest and with such gratitude. I really had the feeling that it was all about giving and receiving.
