  We are a family owned and operated Hostel. We enjoy our hospitality summer side business and love meeting new people and helping our guests have a great time in Montenegro.
  
  Our business is operational during the spring and summer time when the Montenegrin coast and weather is at its finest. We love hosting guests who want to explore Montenegro and experience its Mediterranean culture and landscape.
  Our house has seventeen small apartments that we rent to guests, and one common co-working office space for five people - for digital nomads who like to work and travel.
  
  As we are in the hospitality business and like to host people who are not just tourists but come to experience our country, and most of our tourists are not local, we had the idea of hiring staff to help us during the tourist season who is also not local. The idea is to have staff at the house who are also here to experience Montenegro, and help our guests to do the same guided by their own experiences. Our vision is for our guests and staff to have a good time at our house during their stay, and to interact with each other and share experiences.

  The cultural exchange opportunities at our hostel are great because our staff primarily has the opportunity for Montenegrin cultural exchange with us the hosts and the people of Budva where we live. Secondarily, your would have opportunities for cultural exchange with our guests who's statistic for the last two years is: 40% western European, 30% Eastern European, 20% Balkan countries, and 10% for the rest of the world.
  We find that about a half of our guests are very friendly and seek cultural exchange and interaction, and more even with friendly tourists at the house when they come to Montenegro. The other 50% are of course the usual weekend tourists :)
  
  In the first mentioned half we identify our primary clientele and would like to offer them more possibilities of cultural exchange with hiring staff that is not local and here with the same goals as our guests - cultural exchange and discovering the beautiful places that Montenegro has to offer.
  If successful, our long term goals would be to have a kind of a small tourist community at our house, of digital nomads and people who travel for discovery and experiencing other cultures and places, and not just the usual tourist attractions, and market our hostel as such a place to attract more like minded tourists, and maybe see a small tourist community grow and flourish at our place.
  
  We think that this is the way of travel and exploration in the 21. century and we try to build something with character and soul for our guests to enjoy, and not just the standard hotel experience. Our opinion is that with the right WorkAway staff we could make this idea a reality, and maybe have a yoga morning, barbecue friday and movie sunday for all our house occupants, a community experience - not just a room rental :)

  Arbeit

  We would love to host one paid housekeeper over the summer season with the goal of her helping with housekeeping every day from 09am to 16pm. She would be working with another girl that already works seasonally for us for 2 years, this will be her third. Sightseeing and enjoying Montenegro in their off hours, and providing our guests with help in exploring Montenegro and enjoying their stay at our house.
  
  Our guests have always been in need of help and assistance when it comes to going to the right places in Montenegro, and seeing the best places that they can in the time they are here. We help our guests with recommendations and guide them very frequently, but have found that often the best recommendations come from other guests staying at our house - from places that they have been to and found exciting :)
  
  With that in mind, we are looking for one woman who would have 4 to 8 hours of daily work for the housekeeping activities of our house. That is a real assessment btw, about 5 hours of house keeping work daily at average, with peaks to 8 hours every 3-4 days when there are many check-ins and outs.
  The work is paid and the monthly salary is 1000 euros, much above the Montenegrin standard.
  
  Since the workload is intentionally relaxed with an average of 5 hours per day of housekeeping activities, our secondary goals for our housekeepers are to welcome guests and help them with check-in and checkout, and give them support and directions for their visit in Montenegro.
  There also optional services that our housekeepers can perform for guests at the house like laundry services and breakfast at our terraces. These would be paid additionally by the guests if requested, and if our staff can fulfill them. As said they are optional paid services not standard service - you can offer them when guests arrive and they can choose if they need them or not.
  
  The idea is pretty much to have two women at the house who are housekeepers primarily, but who are well paid and have a relaxed workload so they can enjoy Montenegro for themselves and with this relaxed schedule be inspired to interact with our guests and help them make their stay much more enjoyable than in a Hotel.
  
  The position does not require any previous work experience in hospitality nor housekeeping. If you know how to keep your own living space neat and clean and can do the same for our guests - you're hired :)
  Our motto for housekeeping is - keep it clean as you would for yourself, and as you would clean it if a member of your family was staying in our rooms. We have those visits too.
  
  There is one catch to the job - we require a three month commitment from you, from June 20th to September 20th. This makes the position not for everyone, but if you are looking for a longer stay, we are sure that you will like the place and people here. The work is also not to hard, an intentional 2/3 workload as said, so you have time to enjoy yourself and have fun in Montenegro beside work.

  Unterkunft

  The accommodation for our two housekeepers is our 18th rental room - the same as for our tourists, we keep that one closed for rental and dedicated for our housekeepers. As all our rooms it features a small but well stocked kitchen, a bathroom, AirCon/TV/WiFi, and has two separate single beds.
  We do not provide meals with our accommodation since we do not have a kitchen/restaurant in our house.
  
  There is a market and several fast foods and restaurants on a 1-3 minute walk range from the house.
  WorkAway-ers can expect to spend around 250-400 euros monthly on food in Montenegro. That means that you will have some 600-750 euros from your monthly salary for your own spending or saving :)

  Previous experiences:
  - Two friends coming in for the job together works great in our previous experiences. If you have a friend that you would like to WorkAway with for our three month period - give them a call :)
  - Covering half a shift for each other to have a whole afternoon for yourself is doable 60% of the time, so cooperation can be quite rewarding and make the job even more a vacation, than just work in another country.
  - Having a big smile, positive attitude and enthusiasm for travel and exploring makes this a fun experience more than a job, and that is the profile we are mostly looking out for. That is exactly the reason why we try to hire our staff from WorkAway and not localy, and have a relaxed workload - the opportunity for people to experience a Montenegro for the first time and have fun interacting with lots of new people. The locals on the other hand have seen it all and more than often dont have the simle and energy of someone traveling and experiencing Montenegro for the first time :) This makes excellent hospitality and a great experience for both the guests and the staff.
  
  What to do when you are in Montenegro:
  - There are about 6 towns other than Budva on a hours drive from us with lots of places to explore, and you will have time and directions from us to explore it. You will have the time to explore them, and we hope that you will be able to give the same directions to our guests who are interested, maybe even a joint trip sometimes with the guests if you find interesting people. Friendly people usually get together and have fun.
  - Enjoy the beaches and sunbathing every day when you're not out exploring. You work until everything is done not a fixed hour. Usually that is until 14-17h pm, sometimes even earlier if you cover a bit for each other or there really is not much work that day, and the sun is up until 20h here :)
  - The nightlife in Budva, Kotor and Tivat is some of the best on the Mediterranean coast.
  
  We organize a hour long video call for all our our top candidates that apply, to show them around the house and familliarise them with the environment and the work that they would be doing, so you have a good opportunity to see what the place and job are like before making a commitment.

  We have a dedicated Co-Working space for digital nomads that are guests of the house. Digital nomads are more than welcome at our place, if your work hours are lean and permit you to work at our place too.
