Beschreibung
We are 19th c built winery in Kardenakhi village of Kakheti region in Georgia. Our primary product is a wine. Our estate is located on the central road from Tbilisi to Tsnori. It takes 1 hour drive from Tbilisi. Kardenakhi is a historical village, and a heartland of winemaking. It takes only 10 minutes to drive to one of the most popular destinations in Georgia - Sighnaghi.

You will have a chance to learn a lot about winemaking traditions and generally about Georgian culture through exchanges with us as well as with our guests. Because of the activities in our estate, you shall expect more detailed information about Georgian traditional Qvevri wine making technology that is under in the UNESCO world heritage list. Besides, you will see how traditional Georgian estate functions, that is probably not very different from world analogues but of course there are many cultural peculiarities and people interested in SMEs, anthropology, history, psychology , etc may find it useful.
Arbeit
Generally, we accommodate/can host volunteers (2-3 persons).
We are looking for a person/s who can assist us in setting up pottery workshop, technical advise how to build small size electric ceramic kiln. We do not want to buy one, instead we want to build one. Also, persons who would try to work with local clay and help us to understand the required temperature, identify the best possible covering paint, etc. It does not require professional knowledge but it does require somebody with practical experience.
Moreover, at our premises, there are 5 full-time staff and us 2 persons, however during high season we still require helping hands associated mostly with winemaking and winetasting tasks. But there is no specific task or project related to the wine and such assistance might be required rarely.
Besides we welcome artistic persons, with smart ideas, could be painting walls or doing garden sculpture or whatever art installations.

Unterkunft
Volunteers are expected to stay in a living block in the winery estate which has 7/24 water running, hot water, internet, gas and electricity. A room is for 2 (+1) persons, therefore we are looking for two persons for a room.
We will provide the volunteers with all necessary ingredients for meals upon their diet requirements, as a standard, it will contain meat, bread, rice, beans, vegetables, dairy products, fruits on regular basis. Workawayers are expected to cook for themselves in the kitchen, however during the season the volunteers are offered usual board prepared for the winery guests.
