We are a private, family owned and operated ranching facility. We farm and ranch and perform all duties related to this occupation on our 1500 hundred acre property located in the heart of the eastern rocky mountains of British Colombia, Canada.
Each season we search for motivated, mature people who are looking to immerse themselves in our family, our ranching and all the duties that pertain to land and facility maintenance, and generally into our lives out here on the very edge of the Canadian wilderness.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Travellers will be 100% immersed in our very small community both on the farm with just our family and off the property having a day off in either of our closer communities of Valemount ( 25 Km away) or Jasper ( 112 Km away)...we provide the ride or find a neighbour who is going to either of these towns for our 'workaway' people to access town for a day or two. We are long time residents of both communities, we know the majority of locals ( in the case of my husband, he is born and raised in Jasper), we know all the best restaurants, activities, hiking trails and 'must see' attractions for people visiting from overseas and are more than pleased to accommodate our workaday people for a day(s) off of the farm to enjoy our beautiful mountain area, towns and the Canadian culture that the area can offer.

Arbeit
Example of duties in a typical day would be meal prep and clean up, light house keeping, lawn and garden tasks, horse feeding chores morning and evening, pet care, etc.
In the summer months help is needed in the harvesting of hay, stooking, hauling and stacking of hay and operation of some machinery if qualified; yard maintenance, gardening, infrastructure maintenance ie. fence painting, brush and tree clearing etc. is also involved in the job description.
Throughout all of the above mentioned there is always fence repair, firewood harvesting and various building and or demolition projects to be helped with as well.
We will also consider an individual who has an extensive 'horse training/riding' background in order to help exercise/train the handful of horses we maintain for pleasure/trail riding...'Horse time' would be time spent working horses after the other above mention duties have been attended to and or in her/his spare time....this time spent working horses will likely be partially or completely supervised to ensure training is carried out according to our format.

We have a private bedroom on the main floor of our own home and in the warmer months, workawayers stay in our private, 30 foot , well equipped, luxury RV camper located within meters of our house.

We are looking for individuals who are keen to be here, who are mature and who don't need to be surrounded by people as we live far away from towns or cities; individuals who are charismatic enough to interact with our family and who can learn quickly and work independently without being 'spoon-fed' by us from day to day.
A love of the wilderness solitude, mountains and any activities that this area offers, should feature strongly in any individuals who would like to spend some time here on our ranch.
