Beschreibung
The 42-hectare land, filled with lush jungle, agricultural products, crystal-clear rivers, majestic wildlife, and beautiful waterfalls, offers much to explore and provides us with fruits and vegetables to harvest.
Tierra Prometida is an ecotourism, agroecology, and conservation project located in the heart of the Chiapas rainforest. Here, we grow our own food, protect biodiversity, share time with the local community, and create a learning space in contact with nature.
The experience combines community life, connection with the jungle, and active participation in sustainability projects.
"SAGRADA FAMILIA": This area is located at the entrance to the jungle and features state-of-the-art facilities and buildings. Here, your host is a warm and fun Mexican family who runs the farm and produces food for self-sufficiency. This space offers an omnivorous diet, but is also open to vegetarian options. Important: They only speak Spanish!
El terreno de 42 hectáreas, repleto de exuberante selva, productos agrícolas, ríos cristalinos, majestuosa fauna y hermosas cascadas, ofrece mucho por explorar y nos proporciona frutas y verduras para cosechar.
Es un proyecto de ecoturismo, agroecología y conservación ubicado en plena Selva de Chiapas. Aquí trabajamos sembrando nuestros propios alimentos, protegiendo la biodiversidad, compartiendo con la comunidad local y creando un espacio de aprendizaje en contacto con la naturaleza.
La experiencia combina vida comunitaria, conexión con la selva y participación activa en proyectos de sustentabilidad.
"SAGRADA FAMILIA": Esta área se encuentra a la entrada de la selva y cuenta con instalaciones y edificios avanzados. Aquí, su anfitrión es una familia mexicana cálida y divertida que se encarga de la granja y de la producción de alimentos para su autosuficiencia. Este espacio ofrece una dieta omnívora, pero también está abierto a opciones vegetarianas. Importante: ¡Solo hablan español!

You'll learn about jungle/community life, bioconstruction, permaculture, cacao processing, harvesting exotic fruits, local flora and wildlife, and Mayan culture, all while taking your daily showers in the crystal-clear rivers.

Main Tasks
• Planting: preparing the soil, harvesting, and tending vegetables and fruit trees.
• Agroforestry: reforestation, native tree care, and soil management.
• Aquaculture and Animals: caring for fish, birds, dogs, and cats.
• Green Construction, carpentry, and general maintenance: support on projects using local materials (bamboo, wood, and soil).
• Daily Life: cooking, harvesting, cleaning, and collective tasks that make community life possible.
"SAGRADA FAMILIA" Space:
- Assisting María in the kitchen and with household chores.
- Farming with chickens, turkeys, fish, parrots, dogs, and cats.
- Creating the new greenhouse (growing beds, planting, tending, and harvesting).
- Processing corn and cacao.
- Tree care and fruit harvesting.
No prior knowledge is required; just a willingness, respect, and a desire to learn.

Tareas principales
• Siembra: preparar tierra, cosechar, cuidar hortalizas, frutales.
• Agroforestería: reforestación, cuidado de árboles nativos y manejo de suelos.
• Acua-cultura y animales: cuidado de peces, aves, perritos y gatitos.
• Bioconstrucción , carpintería y mantenimiento general: apoyo en proyectos con materiales locales (bambú, madera, tierra).
• Vida diaria: cocinar, cosechar, limpieza y tareas colectivas que hacen posible la vida en comunidad.
Espacio "SAGRADA FAMILIA":
- Ayuda a María en la cocina y las tareas del hogar
- Trabajos agrícolas con gallinas, pavos, peces, loros, perros, gatos...
- Creación del nuevo invernadero (cultivar camas, plantar, cuidar, cosechar)
- Procesar maíz/cacao
- Cuidado de árboles y cosecha de frutas
No se requieren conocimientos previos, solo disposición, respeto y ganas de aprender.

You will stay in a rustic cabin in front of a waterfall (mattress and mosquito net).
We do not have air conditioning.
There is limited internet access, sufficient for basic communication, but not for full-time remote work.
Bathrooms are shared, and the communal kitchen is shared with other volunteers and project members. We provide three meals a day. More than 50% of the food is homegrown.
We live with animals such as spiders, snakes, scorpions, and mosquitoes.
We recommend bringing a headlamp!
We also wash in the river. Please bring organic soap and toothpaste!

No contamos con aire acondicionado.
Hay internet limitado, suficiente para comunicación básica, pero no para trabajo remoto de tiempo completo.
Los baños son compartidos, y la cocina es comunitaria compartida con otros voluntarios y miembros del proyecto. Ofrecemos 3 comidas diarias. Más del 50% de los alimentos son de producción propia.
Convivimos con animales como arañas, serpientes, escorpiones y mosquitos.
¡Te recomendamos traer una linterna frontal!
Además, nos lavamos en el río. ¡Por favor, trae jabón y pasta de dientes orgánicos!

We are located 1 hour and 20 minutes by public transport and 1 hour by car from Palenque, a tourist town rich in Mayan culture and a world-famous archaeological site of the great Mayan emperor Pakal. In addition, many other beautiful natural sites are a maximum of 2-3 hours away, such as the famous Agua Azul River, Roberto Barrios River, and Misol-Ha. You can always spend your time here and enjoy the magical nature of our land and its surroundings. There are many hidden gems to explore.
Nos encontramos a 1 hora y 20 minutos en transporte público y a 1 hora en coche de Palenque. Una ciudad turística rica en cultura maya y un sitio arqueológico mundialmente famoso del gran emperador maya Pakal. Además, muchos otros hermosos parajes naturales se encuentran a un máximo de 2-3 horas de viaje, como el famoso río Agua Azul, Roberto Barrios y Misol-Ha. Además, siempre puede pasar su tiempo aquí y disfrutar de la mágica naturaleza de nuestra tierra y sus alrededores. Hay muchas joyas ocultas por explorar.

El camino de 21 km es muy accidentado. No se necesita una carretera todoterreno, pero si su vehículo está bajo, podría ser difícil. El vehículo se estacionaría en la entrada y estaría protegido por la familia que vive en esta parte del terreno.
