It was a great time with this family and I enjoyed my two-month stay. I had my own room and bathroom, was provided good food and amazing cakes, and care.

The job consists of gardening, clearing, cleaning, sweeping, carrying, repairing, shattering, cooking, painting, labour on the field and shopping. The amount of effort needed to complete a daily shift is generally calculated well.
The communication is okay. People understandably don't have enough time in this fast paced farm to wait for you to construct relatively complex sentences in German. They culturally don't wait for anything more than a second, which was a culture shock for me. On the other hand, they show you the job on site, when its time comes. And just as a side note, you are expected to do the job strictly the way they say. It's not allowed to use your own methods. But it's usually the result, what interests them.
I was provided all the necessary furnishes. Heike took a great care of my special diet and prepared good food that I can eat. Every afternoon there's a cake time, and Heike and Oma (the Grandmother) bake the most amazing cakes I have ever eaten. It is worth to workaway in this house just for those cakes.
The farm is socially active and there are many people visiting. When you try enough, you can find someone to practise German if this is your main reason for staying.
It was overall a satisfying experience in this family and I would consider coming back again one day. I have met lots of wonderful people and had numberless of spectacular moments. Heike, Oma, Friedrich and Lot(t)i, I thank you all for your efforts and support on me. I have stayed at Heike's house for 5 weeks and I had the best experience ever. This was my first workaway and it was unforgettable. All family was too nice to me, Heike treated me like a daugther. … read more two times and we swimmed together. The dog Loti was my best friend and she is a very lovely dog. I also met Oma and she was so nice to me, she is like my own grandmother. The family also helped me about German. They helped me to improve my communication skills. Only a few days I went to the strawberry field and it was an amazing experience for me. I feel like I have a family in Germany now and I would love to see them again. İf you want to have great time with great people, I would definitely recommend this house! … read more Fue una experiencia excelente y muy gratificante. He tenido la oportunidad de trabajar junto a un equipo muy lindo, cálido y amigable que se ayudan mutuamente. En la casa, conocí al esposo de Heike, un hombre muy divertido y bueno; a Oma, una mujer sabia que me recibió con mucho cariño, y una de sus hijas que estuvo con la familia durante el fin de semana. Definitivamente fue una experiencia muy buena y pude conocer sobre las costumbres y cultura de Alemania. Yo no hablo alemán, pero no fue dificultad para que Heike me pudiera explicar lo que necesitaba. Sí hubiera sido mejor y hubiera podido ayudar más y hablar más si hubiese sabido algo de alemán, pero la paciencia que me tuvo la anfitriona y su familia fue de maravilla. I found this an incredible opportunity to improve my German as the family provided a supportive learning environment and allowed me to learn and come into contact with the real side of the German culture. I had my second workaway experience with Heike and her family. Everybody was very welcoming and the two weeks were over in no time. My daily tasks included feeding the animals, cleaning and helping in the kitchen. Additionally, I reviewed their website und helped to improve the setup of the wifi-extenders. Ich habe viele gutes Essen gegessen. Alles hat mir gut geschmeckt. Ich habe auch über deutsche Zutaten gelernt.
Ich habe der Haushalt, die Hühnerfütterung, die Arbeiten im Garten und auf dem Erdbeerfeld geholfen. Es war interessiert für mich, dass ich die Lifestyle und die Landwirtschaft gucken und kennen konnte.
Während des Aufenthalts kontte ich ein paar Stadt in der Nähe von hier Besichtigen(Berlin, Hannover, Braunschweig, Wolfsburg). Ich habe das Sightseeing viel genossen, weil Familie mir gute Ratschläge gegeben hat.
