*** UPDATE 2025 ***
We are currently in the process of moving house so, at this stage, we don't know when we can next accept Workawayers. We will still be living in the same village, so for those of you who are interested in seeing our little corner of Finland, there will still be ample opportunity to see it! However, please wait until we have update this page before contacting us!
As soon as we have moved house and settled into the new property, we will update this page and begin welcoming Workawayers again. Thank you for your patience 🙏🏽.
We are a Finnish/British couple living with our two children (four and two) in the beautiful Finnish countryside, and only an hour's drive into the centre of Helsinki! As a family we have very recently been Workawayers ourselves - on a farm in Italy for a month - and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Now it's our turn to act the hosts and offer up our space to you in exchange for some help with our project.

You have an opportunity to practice your English with a native British English speaker and also practice your Finnish with a native Finn. If you're a climber then you also have the chance to use the indoor climbing gym, as well as as our sauna and Palju (wood fired hot tub)!

Arbeit
Three main areas of help are needed: we have 1 hectare of land and there is a lot of weeding, pruning and general maintenance of the garden to be done before the winter sets in.
Painting and DIY in some areas inside the house. Actively spending time and helping out with the children.
Occasionally we might ask you to help out with other jobs such as sorting through areas of the house, cooking a meal, or doing a shop but they will come up as and when.

Unterkunft
You'll have you're own bedroom in our house, however you're also welcome to camp or drive a camper van and park up on our land :)
We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and are happy if you can help out with some or all of the meals, if you're a keen cook!

We value outdoor play, creativity, music and art for the children, so if you are interested in these things that's definitely a bonus!
We enjoy spending time in the nature, cooking together, and having meaningful conversation. We also have great friends in our village from Finland and all over the world who also have Workaways stay at their homes. This means there are ample opportunities to mix with and get to know both native Fins, foreigners and Workaways alike.
Helsinki is a 1 hour bus ride away. Turku is also an hour away by bus. Fiskars and Billnäs villages are beautiful and not far from us, as well as Tammisaari and Mathildedal - both well worth a visit!
