This is an historic house built in 1873. We are restoring the house, sheds and 1 acre of gardens.We have a polytunnel and grow our own organic fruit and vegatables for ourselves and our guests. We have chickens and honey bees.We enjoying sharing our knowledge and experience of gardening, seed selection, planting, and harvesting with our visitors.
Workawayers who come to help in the garden and sheds,learn the value and importance of coming together to build new projects or in the garden growing local, organically produced food by practical example. They are never asked to help in the bed and breakfast, as we have paid staff for this.
Workawayers stay in a comfortable,self contained cottage with wifi, adjacent to our house and we provide all meals.

Workawayers are asked to help 5 hours a day, finished at 3 pm giving time to relax or explore the island. Weekends are off. All food and accommodation provided in an adjacent cottage with wifi.

We are on an Island in the Ocean, but are accessible having a bridge and a ferry from April to October. We are on our own private land yet set in the village of Knightstown, with two pubs and a shop. During time off the area is good for exploration of the islands many spectacular sights.Many tourists come to visit sites such as Geokaun mountain, Fogher cliffs, Glanleam gardens and beach, the candle factory, Ancient tetrapod tracks, Valentia island slate quarry, Bray head looped walk with spectacular views out to Skellig islands where Star Wars was filmed and close by Portmagee village. Valentia is Ireland's most westerly inhabited island so is place of natural beauty surrounded by clear blue waters.
