Beschreibung
We are a small team here – just the two of us, along with Rendal’s 90-year-old mother, who lives with us. We also share our home with a wonderful four-legged friend, Bowie (our very friendly dog), two cats, and a small group of chickens and a proud rooster.
Our home is a beautiful, historic 19th-century farmhouse, set on a domaine with breathtaking 360-degree views and the most spectacular sunsets. The surroundings are peaceful and rural, with endless open landscapes and stunning views of the Pyrenees.
We are located near the charming medieval town of Mirepoix, famous for its half-timbered houses and vibrant market. A bit further away, you’ll find the legendary Carcassonne and the lively city of Toulouse.
The climate here is wonderfully warm and sunny, with long summer evenings and, at times, high temperatures—perfect for those who love a real summer atmosphere!
If you enjoy nature, tranquility, and stunning landscapes, we think you’ll love it here as much as we do.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Animal Care: If you love animals, you’ll enjoy taking care of our chickens, cats, and our friendly dog, Bowie.
What You Can Experience:
Local Life: Explore the charming market town of Mirepoix, visit Carcassonne, or take day trips to Toulouse and the Pyrenees.
Outdoor Activities: Enjoy hiking, cycling, kayaking on the nearby river or simply taking in the stunning views from our domaine.

At home, we mainly speak Dutch, but we also communicate in English and French. If you're looking to improve your French, you’ll have opportunities to practice when exploring local markets, visiting villages, or interacting with our French neighbours an friends. However, since most of our guests are Dutch, the daily work environment won’t be fully immersive in French. We love learning from others, so if you speak another language, we’d be happy to exchange and share stories from different cultures!Unterkunft
We offer free and comfortable accommodation in a small caravan with a breathtaking view over the surrounding countryside. The caravan is simple but cozy, providing everything you need for a good night’s rest. Bedding is provided, and you’ll have access to a shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
If you prefer to bring your own camper or caravan, we have a beautiful pitch available with access to water and electricity. Was noch ...
We highly value reliability, respect, and a peaceful atmosphere. As we live in a quiet rural area, we ask that Workawayers are mindful of noise levels and contribute to maintaining a calm and relaxed environment.
On your days off, you can explore the beautiful surroundings:
Visit the charming medieval town of Mirepoix, with its lively market and historic half-timbered houses.
Take a trip to the legendary Carcassonne or the vibrant city of Toulouse.
Enjoy hiking, cycling, or simply unwinding in nature with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees.
Go on a kayak trip on the l'Hers Vif river, just 5 minutes from our domaine – a refreshing and fun way to enjoy the outdoors!
Transportation
A car is absolutely necessary – there is no public transport nearby, so having your own vehicle is essential for getting around and making the most of your stay.
House Rules & Lifestyle
We enjoy a glass of wine, but everything in moderation, no excessive drinking or drugs.
A tidy and presentable appearance is important, especially when interacting with guests.
Respect for animals and nature is essential – we live in harmony with our surroundings.
If you love nature, enjoy practical work, and appreciate a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, you’ll feel right at home here.Etwas mehr Information

WiFi is generally good, with speeds of around 100 Mb/s, which is sufficient for most tasks like emails, video calls, and streaming. However, it is not suitable for heavy applications such as large file uploads or professional video editing. Occasional outages can happen, but they are usually resolved within a few hours. If your work requires a highly stable or ultra-fast connection, our location may not be the best fit. However, for general online work, you should be able to combine your remote job with helping us on the domaine.

We welcome all animals, but our dog, Bowie, does not get along well with unneutered male dogs that show dominant behavior. If you plan to bring a pet, let us know in advance so we can ensure a good match with our animals. Our domaine is a great place for pets, with plenty of space to roam, but we ask that all animals are well-behaved and under control to maintain a peaceful environment for everyone.
