Hello and welcome to us!
We are a small family of three. Hugo is our ten-year-old son, and there’s dad Martin and mom Ida, both in their forties. We live on a small farm outside Hjo in southern Sweden, right in the middle of the forest, where we thrive and love gardening and engaging in various small and large projects.
Martin works as an economist at an energy company, and Ida is self-employed in the health industry. Hugo is in fourth grade; he plays guitar and videogames.
Both Martin and Ida are passionate about living as naturally as possible, with a strong focus on reusse and circular thinking. Living with nature and learning from it is important to us. We love music and sometimes play and sing together, though it’s usually Ida who sings and records her own music. We are curious about people and interested in other cultures and languages. We all speak fluent English, and Ida also speaks some German. We have three cats, whom we adore, and a few goldfish in the pond. Unfortunately, the sheep and chickens are taking a break in 2025. Both Martin and Ida love cooking and food from different countries, especially Asian, but also Italian, Swedish, and Mexican.
Ida works from home, leading courses in personal development, meditations, and individual sessions online. You are welcome to join the meditations as long as there’s room in the group.
You will stay in our cabin wich we rent out in the summer , we have lots of guests who love to come back every year.
Regarding transportation, it’s good if you have your own car, but we can pick you up at the bus station in Hjo if needed. A driver’s license is an advantage as it allows you to make excursions in the area when we don’t need the car. Access to bicycles will be available. It’s about 3 km down to Hjo center. Since we live on Hökensås, it’s downhill all the way to Hjo, which is beautifully located by the large lake Vättern. In Hjo, you can shop for food, some clothes, and enjoy several good restaurants. It’s a summer town, so during the summer, there are many tourists and ice cream vendors. The surroundings are beautiful, with opportunities for longer and shorter hikes on scenic trails and in ancient forests. Camping with tents and cabins, canoeing, and fishing – there are many options to choose from here.
We look forward to exchanging experiences with you and teaching you what we know about Sweden and Hjo.

We have a lot of knowledge with cultivating and growing in a cold climate, we love to share our meals and are good cooks. You will learn about the swedish people and customs, and some language if you'd like. We love nature and know a lot about animals and diffferent plants.
The city of Hjo is one out of three unique "Wooden Cities" in Sweden and has beautiful wooden buidlings preserved in the city park.Arbeit

You would stay in our guesthouse. It has a bedroom and a small room with a tv, kitchentable and a sofa. A small but very equiped kitchen, toilet and an outdoor shower. It is out of sight from both our farm and the smal road. A nice outdoor patio with a roof aswell. The house is surrounded by trees, it's a very calm place.

We live in the most beautiful nature, many people think it is the most beautiful area in Sweden. We have ancient forrests in the nearby and live in between the largest lakes in Sweden. There are lots of activities for outdoors, and also indoors, depending on your interests we'll show you. You can go with the bus to nearby large cities for shopping or you can go with the train to the capital of Sweden from the largest city nearby (Skövde, 30km away). There are perfect trails for hiking leading from the house if you wish to camp in the nearby. Just ask us and we will help you!
