  Hey there folks,
  We are a hostel based out in the lap of Himalayas. A place in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, a place so fresh and green only imagined in the books .
  We have always been keen travellers ourselves before opening a hostel so we know what a backpacker would need before opting to volunteer with us.
  Staying here would help you get closer to nature and there'll be lot of cultural exchange along with memories to be made.
  
  We are a team of 10, all locally hired from the nearby villages to increase the employment in the area.
  The division of work is as such-
  3 are chef
  3 are helpers in the kitchen
  2 are into housekeeping to keep everything clean
  1 works as waiter in the cafe
  1 helps into check in and check out of guests and billing

  1.Language Exchange-We are an Indian hostel based out of Himalayas hence Right from learning the local language & Hindi to also sharing the knowledge of English or any other language with the staff and nearby village children is a major opportunity when it comes to cultural exchange.
  2.Learning the mountain life-Learning the ways of the small villages of Himalayas to how co dependent the villagers here are on each other. In the mountains you learn the value of even the smallest things which you can easily get in the cities. Indulging in local festivities which are a frequent occurrence here to enjoying the slow life here is also a very tempting aspect of volunteering here.
  3.Food Exchange- Food serves a major part in any culture.We have a cafe at our place where you can learn how to cook all the major Indian dishes including the legendary -Butter Chicken,Biryani, Tandoori Naan, Chicken Tikka etc.We have an open kitchen for the volunteer where they can feel free to be around.We would also like to learn the native food of our volunteer and also maybe try to add that in our menu at the same time. Other than the cafe menu the villagers nearby are very helpful and our neighbours can even teach you much more about the authentic local dishes.

  The food will be provided by us. We'll provide 3 meals a day even during the off days.
