Hello all! I have been sailing and traveling around the world for over 12-13 years. I har also been a couchsurfer. I call myself Gypsy so I totally understand the PASSION for travel and what it is to be a nomad. The need to discover the world and to keep going. Sometimes along our endless travels, it is good to stop for awhile, do something productive, rest to refuel that drive to keep traveling.
I now have found some roots in Turkey - a Country of boundlesd beauty, opportunities, and connections to the earth and people. I have purchased two historic old antique homes.
My boyfriend and I are renovating two old Turkish antique houses in Magical Cappadocia! We would love someone with DIY and building/construction experience to help us renovate them.
We actually live in Avanos, 30 minutes away in another small town. We go back and forth.
It is very very rustic - at the moment no indoor toilet, electricity. At the moment, electricity and plumbing is being worked on.
Carpentry and building skills are welcomed. We will be putting tiles down and just installing things like sinks, toilets, tubs etc.
Building with wood is needed as I want to close the patio-terrace area.
You will get to stay and experience authentic village life and the town Urgup is 15 minutes by car. You will have alot of privacy and isolation as only 60 people live in this village.
Also we have a house in Avanos that also needs renovation.
We will drive back and forth depending on the projects involved.
Please contact me to ask any questions.
Nature is so beautiful here so if you want to immerse yourself in nature and history, this place is perfect. If you do not like camping and nature - this place will be a nightmare. If you are allergic to bees, stay away as there are so many during this season. We are trying to figure a natural way to keep them away.
No luxuries at moment, but both homes are old antique homes with cave rooms and stone arch rooms.
Food will be provided working 4-5 hours a day.
Thank you for reading! I plan to convert these small antique homes into an enchanted cottage with a midnight forest theme. Artistic skills are also welcomed.

Very rugged room. We will have a double mattress. Working water. Outdoor outhouse literally. No indoor toilet yet. There is a mosque a few minutes walk away if you want standing toilet. Very dusty as this is a cave home. Lots of insects tis time of year. No electricity yet. Very very ruged overall. More like camping. No luxuries. No hot water. No refrigeration. Cold water. You can choose to sleep in 4 rooms. Upstairs and downstairs. Food will be provided working 4-5 hours a day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Google Cappadocia. There is so much to see and do in this region. You are in Urgup, the biggest town in Cappadocia. 15-30 minutes drive to Goreme - the tourist center of Cappadocia. ATV, horses, paragliding, balloon tours. Camping and hiking. Underground cities all over. Buses run daily connecting Urgup.
