My project is a 1979 Morgan 461, that is recovering from Hurricane Irma and Maria. She is located in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. I am a US citizen, but a resident of the BVI.

I have owned the boat for 7 years and at one time she was the boat show winner!

Now I am well on my way back to having her in Pristine shape, but it is still going to take a lot of cosmetic work.

They do not build boats like this anymore. These days it's all about weight and speed and building them affordably. You could not rebuild my boat to her original standards today for several million dollars... She is not fast, but she WILL get you to your destination. She is a comfortable cruiser and a blue water boat for sure!

She has been around the world twice, stuck by lightning, caught on fire, thrown onshore during hurricane Marilyn (and sailed away with just scratches), survived my ex wife, survived the two strongest storms in recorded history in the Atlantic, and survived ME! She deserves to be restored completely. She is close, but still needs some love.

I have 7 hatches to replace. I have 13 portlights to replace. All the interior varnish needs a maintenance coat - and then some. I need to replace some of the wood, exterior varnish needs its maintenance coat, painting, cleaning, I could use a little help with the plumbing, I am going to finally install an air conditioner ( no A/C at this time - just fans and cool trade winds ). If you know how to sew or anything to do with upholstery, that will help as I am replacing bimini, salon cushion covers, and sail cover.

All of this to be done this year. I have the parts on order and expect them soon.

It is not ALL work!

I work Monday through Friday at the marina and after that, it is time to unwind in Paradise!

Weather permitting, I sail on the weekends to one of the 76 local islands or keys.

We have lots of holidays here as well which makes for several four day weekends and a few weeks off a year - plus two weeks of vacation, so, there is time to explore.

I am interested in just one - maybe two - crew-member(s) and there is a private cabin and head and a separate salon berth with access to the private head.

You do not need experience. I have been told that I am a good instructor and have years of experience. That does NOT make me Capt. Bligh! I want your input and your creativity to be part of what we do.

Additionally, I can teach you all you need to know about sailing - fair weather or foul - and navigation - and handling the vessel at sea or at the dock. I am not up to speed on my astrological navigation, so we can learn together.

Basically, the position entails a little bit of work and a little bit of exploration, and eternal summer in Paradise...

There are so many beaches here you will not find all of them, but we will try!

You have to be willing to play as hard as you work - but the work is not hard. Actually, I would rather you just come enjoy Paradise more than anything...

Additionally, i need to redo the non skid on the deck, clean stainless, re - rig the stack pack, get the new anchors onboard, and deal with my crazy dog, sometimes.
AND, I need crew-members willing and ready to learn to sail her and actually take control of the boat.

She has three cabins, each with a queen size bunk, fans and lighting in each, full galley - it needs some love, too, - two full heads - one with a bathtub - , cockpit lounge, deck space, hammocks, dog, you know sailboat stuff.
No A/C, but it is nice here with fans at night and the ocean during the day.
There are only about 3000 people on Virgin Gorda, so exploring other islands becomes necessary.
There is WiFi, and I am considering buying a TV - I have not had one for about five years...
Heads are manual pump, but I might change them to electric this year, as well.
We can cook onboard or on the grill, or we can spend a night or two, each week out on the town.
I have no dietary restrictions - except i cannot stand eggs.

The place is Paradise. You do what you want with your time off - hopefully that is sailing or gallivanting around having fun!
I have a car. You can use it, sometimes, if you are careful and drive on the LEFT! There a plenty of taxis.
There is a regular, daily ferry schedule. there is a dirt runway here, but other airports close by.
We are still rebuilding here, but by October, everything you need will be within walking distance!
