I stayed at this lovely horsefarm for 3months, it is a very sweet playes, there Natalie is the boss, and she is a good leader. Around 15 horses, 4 dogs , some chickens and a cat and ofc her very cool son Lukas.

… read more stayed in is small but all right, and its lovely to be able to sleep with opened doors and windows, every night in 3 months, sometimes woke up by the barking dogs, or horses that are loose and checking if your alright , maybe not used to the sound of a sleeping snoring man :-) . If you're lucky to get some time here, try to learn from Natalie about how to work with horses, to read and understand them. She is an true artist in horsemanship.

I lived in a small cottage a little away from the house with my own bathroom. I think you have to love nature, because you are outside all day and also the cottage is very nice and cute but also because there is only a thin wall between the animals and nature. This was not a problem for me.

En enero y febrero del año 2020 hice un voluntariado en el rancho la Teja. Donde me encontré con una hermosa familia, Natalie y sus hijos Mario y Lukas.
Aquí realicé distintos tipos de trabajos. Trabajé con los animales, cociné para la familia, ayudé a Mario y Lukas con sus tareas de la escuela.
Y yo aprendí mucho de Natalie.
Pasé hermosos momentos con ellos y espero poder volver pronto ha Prado del Rey.

… read more always thinks of your wellbeing. She immediately recognised that I was in a bad mood and took me to the best tapas restaurant in the most beautiful city I was in. I learned a lot about life through her and the conversations I had with her, especially about life management.
I couldn't get to know David that well because my Spanish is not that good, but even with the little Spanish I spoke, I immediately noticed that he is a humorous and likeable guy. And he can cook plants very delicious
Lukas and Mario had to learn a lot during the time I was there. Nevertheless, they are always up for activities like playing chess, sports or some kind of silliness. It was always very funny when they both fought about who was the better of the two. In the three weeks I was there, they became like little brothers.
I enjoyed working with the horses very much and was able to ride for the first time in my life and I am very grateful for that. If you have the opportunity I can recommend the horse Sevilliano he is very calm and balanced ;-)

I really enjoyed seeing Barny and my children hang around as I found that he also influenced them positively on their values. Not only he fittet in well with the family but also with all our animals and I was impressed how quick he adapted to our farm rythm.
Barny has never been afraid to get his hands dirty and... he never ended the day without taking some time for himself and being greatful.
Anyone who will have Barny as a workawayer will surely share our high opinion on him. We can only recommend him. The only thing we would regret about Barny is that he couldn´t stay any longer ;-)

A truly life-affirming experience in a wonderful and remote corner of Andalusia.

… read more familiar with the routine and their characters. The work was physically hard but fulfilling and all outside in a beautiful place.
The only issue I had were that the Cabin was freezing and didn't have a light. Both of which were only a December problem and Natalie provided more blankets (I ended up with 7!) and she bought a light.
The hard work was more than made worth it with a plethora of new experiences - I rode a horse for the first time, explored some of the most beautiful running trails with Mario, a sound energy session, gorgeous breakfasts at the local venta, and an 'Andalusian' raqclette dinner party as well as the gorgeous setting.
I felt very balanced here and it was beautiful to be around a family so content in a place that their time horizon was a lifetime. I didn't have car but the best way to enjoy your time here is to have one. Around the place you have a lot of things to explore (the coast is not really far, maybe one hour and for me it's probably the best beaches that you can find I Andalucia, Nathalie and David could easily advice you good spot). Sevilla is only at1h20 by car. But if you don't have car you can still enjoy the place with horses, dogs and cat at their place and you have also a really good swimming pool really near to the house (you just have to across the road) and it's a saltwater pool without chemicals.
The best was for me to spend time with the family and also met their friends. If you're looking to improve your Spanish, this is definitely the good place!
About accommodations it was really nice and confortable, I really appreciated it. I feel like at home during 2 weeks, Nathalie and David thank you for that!
