Hi,
We are Jobst (33) and Lisa (34) and we are living on a small horse farm in upper Austria.
And because there are a lot of things to do here and we also have to work besides the farm to earn some money, we are always happy about a helping hand :)
we are very open minded people who enjoy the experience of getting to know new people, listening to their life stories and learn new things.
For getting a small picture about us we will introduce ourselves in some words:
Jobst: loves to work, create, building things, trying new ways, always outside except while sleeping and eating :). his biggest love are his animals and he is always giving his best to care for them and providing them a beautiful life.
Besides working on the farm he is working as a landscape gardener and is selling natural products on markets.
Lisa: loves doing yoga, growing vegetables, making music, working with horses, reading, anthropology, working with children.
We already made great experience with workaway! So it would be a pleasure if you join us.
Jobst already did workaway for a couple of months (Italie, Brazil and Usa) so he knows both sides. How it is to travel and how it is to be a good host ;).
We live in Upper Austria between Linz and Passau, near Germany and Czech Republic.
Our house is on the top of a small mountain and it is surrounded by a forest.
About 5km from the farm is a big skiing area, where you can go skiing in winter.
This farm was an animal sanctuary for abused animals, in the last years many of our old animals left us so at the moment there are only 3 Horses and 7 cats living with us.
Our animals need a lot of love, so if you want to come here for sure it is important that you have a symphaty for animals :).
Because we are living totally off grid there is not so much social action around our house. Thats why you should be ok with a calm surrounding. Furthermore there will be days in which we work and hang out together and others in which we are are doing our regular jobs or need some privat time. so being alone sometimes should be fine for you.
It would be good if you can stay longer, min: 4 weeks

Arbeit
One of the biggest tasks is making hay in summer.
We produce for the horses our own hay. We make small square hay balls. Which we have to collect and store then in the hay barn. This is quite a big job, but it makes a lot of fun. Also our neighbor is helping.
Hay season is July and August. We are cutting once in July and once in August. It always depends on the weather. We need one nice week. Most of our fields are located in nature reserves in the beautiful landscape of the Bohemian Forest and also next to the Skiing Area of Hochficht. Also for us it is always breathtaking to see the amazing view and the forest next to the fields.
We need some help to run the farm and for general maintenance of the stable, but also help in the forest, cutting trees or growing vegetables in the garden.
We are also planning to renovate the house, so if you are skilled with tools, that would be awsome, but no worries if not, there is still enough other tasks to do :)
This region has a lot of snow in winter, so we also need help with snow shoveling.
The farm offers a lot of tasks, but also a very nice time in harmony with animals and nature.
Your work is different, normaly you have to take care of the horses. What means let them in and out of the stable, feet them and clean the stable.
This will be a daily work (about 2 hours)
If you are up for it you can also help us with working the horses. One of our horses is still rideable, the rest is two old but they are also very happy about going for a walk or doing easy work on our riding place. If you have some riding practice you can do rides in our wonderful nature.

She is always happy and singing what makes it nice to be in her surrounding.
Marta has a big heart for animals. Furthermore she was learning with my younger brother for school. (He was by this test the best of his class!!!)
