  Our family is new to workaways, but there are always several in our community. We live on an acreage on Galiano Island in British Columbia. We are a family of 4. My kids are a 19-year old girl and a 16-year old boy. I am a professor at a local university and do pottery as a hobby in my spare time. My husband is a paramedic. We have two cats and a dog.

  Galiano Island is a beautiful island community in British Columbia. There is a thriving art and music scene, and lots of tourists through the summer months. Our family speaks English, but our kids are in French Immersion, so speak passable French. We are active community members and would include workawayers in all of our activities if they are interested. Also, there is a pottery studio if the workawayers are interested.

  Arbeit

  We have a large greenhouse and garden, as well as lots of fruit trees. We are primarily looking for help to get our garden up and running for the season, as well as maintaining it through the summer. We might also expect some help pitching in preparing and cleaning up after meals.

  The workawayer would have their own bedroom in the downstairs of our relatively large home. It would be ideal for a couple. There is a bathroom immediately adjacent, and an area for hanging out.
