As a volunteer, you will experience the life in a traditional ashram in the Himalayas. Taking part in our daily routine of shared meals and evening poojas ( hindu ceremony ) . You will be part of our ever growing family that welcomes Yogis and nature lovers from all over the world. We believe both us as the hosts and you as a volunteer can mutually benefit our experience in working the land in order of better and sustainable living, learning from each other.
Volunteers are needed all year round and the assigned work depends on the season and your skills.
Gardening is running at all times, may be planting, harvesting, working the land... watering or weeding.
General maintenance of the rooms or constructing new ones may include skills as painting, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning... However, no experience is needed as we will provide training.
volunteers will stay in huts without attached bathroom or if required, room with attached bathroom ( subject to availability and different conditions may apply ).
All meals are vegetarian and sattvic ( healthy yogic food ), still traditionally cooked on fire stove. You'll be provided with 3 meals a day. Herbal tea is growing everywhere on the property, may it be lemongrass, mint, tulsi, ginger... just pick your own tea :)
We are located just 40 mins drive from Rishikesh, with easy way to reach us by public transport. The famous Neelkanth temple is only 4 km away and so are other temples, caves and waterfalls to explore on a day off ( Sunday ) . During your work days we are expecting you to stay committed to your work and help us to create an environment of caring and sharing.
