Hello, We are a family of 7: Alexandre, Margaux, Lino (5 years old), Naël (2 years old), Forest (cat 10 years old), Sati (dog, one year old) Quita (cat 10 months old).. We left jobs and former place of living near Paris to change life in Aveyron, summer 2021. In 2022 we bought an old farm, made up of three old stone buildings, surrounded by 2.5 hectares of land and forests . The place is located on the heights of the Alzou valley, a river which flows a few kilometers further into the Aveyron, near Villefranche de Rouergue (7km). The site is bordered by the forest of the slopes of the Alzou and by the pastures. On the ground, we started the renovation of a building for housing and another for the woodworking workshop (and others...), we also started the garden: vegetable garden, pond, orchard, terrace of culture, phyto-purification... In short, all these projects are in progress and we wish to share our know-how by offering participatory projects on different bodies of the place from May to October. Alexandre is a carpenter-cabinetmaker, converted into rehabilitation and insulation from biosourced materials. Margaux is a landscape designer, and now spends more time on the construction site and in the garden than in the office. Lino goes to school, Naël is with a nanny 3 days a week. In terms of organization, excluding holidays, we follow the rhythm of the children who wake up at 7-7:30 a.m., come home from school and nanny at 4:15 p.m., and go to bed around 8:30-9 p.m. Work on site generally takes place between 8:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. The snack marks the beginning of the rest at the end of the day, and we generally share it around a good homemade cake.

Nous sommes une famille de 7: Alexandre, Margaux, Lino (5 ans), Naël (2 ans), Forest (chat 10 ans), Sati (chien, un an) Quita (chat 10 mois).. Nous avons quitté emplois et ancien lieu de vie proche de Paris pour changer de vie dans l'Aveyron, l'été 2021.
En 2022 nous avons acheté une ancienne ferme, composée de trois bâtiments en vieilles pierres, entourés de 2,5 hectares de terrain et forêts. Le lieu se trouve sur les hauteurs de la vallée de l'Alzou, une rivière qui se jette quelques kilomètres plus loin dans l'Aveyron, aux abords de Villefranche de Rouergue (7km). Le site est bordée par la forêt des coteaux de l'Alzou et par les pâtures.

Sur le terrain, nous avons commencé la rénovation d'un bâtiment pour l'habitation et un autre pour l'atelier de travail du bois (et autres...), nous avons aussi commencé le jardin: potager, mare, verger, terrasse de culture, phyto-épuration.... Bref, tous ces chantiers sont en cours et nous souhaitons partager notre savoir-faire en proposant des chantiers participatifs sur différents corps du lieu de mai à octobre.
Alexandre est menuisier-ébéniste, reconverti dans la réhabilitation et l'isolation issues de matériaux biosourcés. Margaux est paysagiste-conceptrice, et passe maintenant plus de temps sur le chantier et dans le jardin que dans le bureau. Lino va à l'école, Naël est chez une nounou 3 jours par semaine.
Niveau organisation, hors vacances, nous suivons le rythme des enfants qui se réveillent à 7h-7h30, rentrent de l'école et nounou à 16h15, et se couchent vers 20h30-21h.
Le travail sur chantier s'effectue globalement entre 8h30 et 15h45. Le gouter marque le début du repos de fin de journée, et nous le partageons en général autour d'un bon gâteau fait maison.

The goal of our approach is to transmit our experience, as a family in transition, first of all, but also our professional knowledge (woodworking, landscaping, gardening, wild picking, biosourced insulation, etc.) summer will also be the time for village celebrations, festivals, markets, hikes and discoveries of the territory...

Le but de notre démarche est de transmettre notre expérience, en tant que famille en transition, d'abord, mais également nos connaissances professionnelles (travail du bois, aménagement extérieur, jardin, cueillette sauvage, isolation biosourcée etc....)

L'été sera également le temps des fêtes de village, festivals, marchés, randonnées et découvertes du territoire...

Arbeit
As you have understood, there are several construction sites in progress on the building and the garden. We are therefore looking for travelers who wish to engage in the work. If you don't have the soul of a handyman or a gardener, help with general organization: shopping, welcoming participants, collective kitchens, etc. .is also welcome. Our children will also be delighted to meet new people and share moments of play and leisure with you :)

Comme vous l'avez compris, il y a plusieurs chantiers en cours sur le bâti et le jardin. Nous recherchons donc des voyageurs qui souhaitent s'engager dans les travaux.
Si vous n'avez pas l'âme d'un(e) bricoleur(se) ou d'un(e) jardinier(e), une aide à l'organisation générale: courses, accueil des participants, cuisines collectives etc... est également la bienvenue.
Nos enfants seront aussi enchantés de faire connaissance avec de nouvelles personnes et de partager des moments de jeux et de loisirs avec vous :)

Unterkunft
Several types of accommodation possible: - your tent, where you want on the ground - a large 19m² tipi tent that can accommodate 4 people - a motorhome that can accommodate 2 people 1 child - a converted truck that can accommodate 2 people Access to a toilet and shower independent of the house is planned, or for those who prefer, dry toilets and solar shower in the garden!

Un accès toilette + douche indépendant de la maison est prévu, ou pour ceux qui préfèrent, toilettes secs et douche solaire dans le jardin!

Aveyron is a very calm and rural department. In summer there is tourism revolving around nature, agriculture and historic architecture. The villages organize parties, and many alternative places offer concert and show evenings. A driving license is essential to move freely in the department, but a bus line is accessible from the village. Our weeks are rather punctuated by school schedules and daily tasks. On weekends, we like to discover new places by setting off with an old motorhome or discovering new walking and picking trails.

L'Aveyron est un département très calme et rural. L'été il y a du tourisme tourné autour de la nature, de l'agriculture et de l'architecture historique. Les villages organisent des fêtes, et de nombreux lieux alternatifs proposent des soirées concert et spectacle. Le permis de conduire est indispensable pour se déplacer librement dans le département, mais une ligne de bus est accessible depuis le village.
Nos semaines sont plutôt rythmées par les horaires de l'école et les tâches quotidiennes.
Le week-end, nous aimons découvrir de nouveaux endroits en partant avec un vieux camping car ou découvrir de nouveaux sentiers de promenades et cueillette.

Notre chienne est très gentille, mais nous avons deux chats. Les voisins ont une vieille chienne également un peu ronchonne mais pas méchante. Par contre, aucune clôture autour de la maison.
