Beschreibung
As landowners in Lithgow, we feel deeply connected to this landscape of mountains, bushland, and wide open skies, and we’re grateful to share it with others through the Ngarrawang Project. Our vision is to create a space grounded in regenerative living, where people can slow down, learn practical skills, and build a meaningful relationship with the land. Central to this is our respect for Traditional Country and culture—we acknowledge the enduring connection of First Nations peoples to this land and aim to care for it in ways that honour that knowledge and history. Through collaborative work, shared meals, and time spent outdoors, we welcome Workaway guests into a thoughtful, hands-on experience that blends sustainability, community, and cultural awareness.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Cultural life here is an important part of the experience and we encourage guests to connect not only with the land, but also with the wider community and the stories it holds. We place strong value on learning about and respecting First Nations culture, including the deep knowledge, traditions, and ongoing connection that Aboriginal peoples have with Country. Where possible, this includes engaging with local cultural events, learning opportunities, and practices that honour Traditional Custodians. We also enjoy being involved with the local community through organisations and gatherings such as community lunches, local markets, Landcare activities, and other grassroots initiatives that bring people together around care for place, food, and community wellbeing. It’s a wonderful way to experience the rich social and cultural fabric of the Lithgow region while contributing in a meaningful way.

Arbeit
Help here is hands-on, varied, and deeply connected to the rhythms of the land. Together, we spend time clearing and caring for areas that need attention, regenerating the bush through planting and mindful stewardship, and building simple eco-structures using natural and reclaimed materials. There’s a strong focus on learning by doing, sharing skills, and working collaboratively in a relaxed but purposeful way. Beyond the physical help, a big part of life here is gathering around food—preparing meals together, sharing what we’ve grown or sourced locally, and taking time to eat, connect, and enjoy the process as a community.
