  Welcome to Baan Suay Bantai 🙏🏼
  
  Hi, my name is Misty. Dutch/Irish, living on the beautiful island of Koh Samui. I've created this profile in the hope to find some last-minute help last year after I was bitten by a dog and figured why not keep it up as I'm always very busy and sometimes have the availability to host at my vacation rental, Baan Suay Bantai.
  
  Baan Suay Bantai (which literally translates to house beautiful Bantai) is a beautiful and comfortable home in Bantai, a small laid-back village situated in the northern part of the island of Koh Samui. The house lies just a short little walk from the beach. It's the perfect place if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle as it's outside of the extremely busy touristic area.
  
  The popular and bustling fisherman’s village is only a 15 minute drive away. Close enough to easily visit for a stroll or a nice dinner along the beach, far enough to be away from the noise and nuisance of beach clubs and beach parties. We also have a bicycle for you to use.
  
  Side note: Since our vacation rental is most often occupied we are unable to host long-term stays.

  Ideally looking for volunteers traveling with a laptop and/or a good camera.
  
  At this very moment, there are a couple of small projects I could use some help with:
  
  - Translations from English to one or more of the following languages (Dutch, Russian, and other languages are welcome) the documents that need translation are created in Canva so ideally you have experience with Canva
  - Content writing (expanding our welcome book and resources for guests with more information about the island, its wildlife, getting around, things to do, local holidays, or other creative ideas)
  - If you are a photographer, videographer, or blogger, this would also be very welcome but not at all required
  
  No professional skills required and tons of free time to enjoy Koh Samui.

  The House:
  
  When staying in this traditional 2 floor house with a private terrace and large balcony you do not have to sacrifice your comfort.
  
  On the ground floor you’ll find the first master bedroom with a comfortable king size bed, black-out curtains for a good night sleep, and a wardrobe. You’ll find a bathroom with a walk-in shower on the same floor for your convenience. As well as a spacious living area and basic kitchen (refrigerator, sink, stove, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, cutting boards, plates and cutleries, glasses and mugs).
  
  High-speed internet with Wi-Fi for fast connection to the world (great for remote workers), smart television in the living room, cable TV receiver, all for your entertainment.
  
  On the second floor, you’ll find another bedroom with a queen size bed, black-out curtains, A/C, a walk-in closet and direct access to the second bathroom with a bathtub.
  
  All doors and windows of the house have mosquito nets so you are able to let in a nice breeze of fresh air without getting eaten alive by mosquitos.
  
  Surroundings:
  
  You’ll find a laundry service as well as self service laundry machines right next door as well as a small convenient store where you can find all essentials. A Seven-eleven less than 100 meters away, a handful of nice restaurants that serve both local Thai cuisine and Western food. And beautiful Bantai beach is only a short little walk down the soi (Thai for street/alley).

  Koh Samui is an island that has plenty to offer for all types of travelers. Whether you're looking for beautiful nature, beaches, waterfall, you're an active type or just want to relax. There is nightlife and parties (although a 20 or 30 min drive away), and so much more. Happy to share tips and recommendations or assist arranging tours and activities. If you are comfortable driving a motorcycle you can use mine at times.
  
  Bantai beach is a small beach, lesser known to the general public. But those in the know call it a secret paradise corner of Koh Samui. Even during a high season you can still find a private spot on the beach to enjoy, without being distracted by the noise and conversation of strangers.
  
  The bay stretches only 1km long but has different landscapes: a white sandy strip as well as a rocky beach with thickets of palm trees. But there is one thing that never changes which is the turquoise sea and marvelous views on the neighboring island Koh Pangan.
  
  There are no dangerous currents and water is usually more shallow than most other beaches, (affected by tides). For a comfortable swim adults will need to move away from the shore at a sufficiently large distance, but for children Ban Tai is an ideal place.
  
  If you do have a preference for a little more lively beach with deeper waters for swimming, Maenam beach is less than a 5 minute drive away.
