Beschreibung
We are a German family of five (Frank and Isabel and our 3 children Lowis, 21, Mathis, 19 and Amelie, 15) who immigrated to Australia in 2009. We live on 1.5 acres just outside of Brisbane in the beautiful Samford Valley. We love travelling, the beach, healthy food and spending time with nice people! We welcome everyone into our family home who is friendly, respectful and willing to give us a helping hand. Non-smokers only please.

Although we are originally from Germany we know Australia pretty well ;-) We have done a lot of travelling over the past 15 years including Cape York, the Kimberleys and Arnhem Land, Brisbane to Perth via the Simpson Desert and the Red Center, Brisbane to Cairns and Brisbane to Sydney, Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road and Adelaide and surrounding area. We would love to exchange some travel knowledge from around the world!
We really love the wider Brisbane area and are very happy to recommend some beautiful places, weekend trips and might even be able to show you some of our favourite spots.
Our teenagers are all very much into indoor bouldering but also into outdoor rock climbing. They love spending time in the Brisbane climbing gyms and even built their very own climbing wall and climbing gym in our shed. They all enjoy having travellers in our house and have stayed in touch with some of our guests for years.

Arbeit
The help we need really depends on the seasons. There is always a lot of garden work that needs to be done especially in Queensland´s wet and warm summer season. Sometimes it just seems that you can´t keep up! Garden work includes mowing, whipper snipper, cutting palm leaves, weeding, clearing gutters, mulching, planting and developing veggie patches and creating new garden beds, just to name a few.

You will have your own room and share a bathroom and the rest of the house with us. Internet access is provided. You are welcome to use our pool to cool off in summer.

Samford Valley is a beautiful green area just outside of Brisbane. Local transport is very limited. Therefore own vehicle is a benefit. We are also happy to help with some transport to and from the next train station in Ferny Grove. Samford Village can be reached within a 5 min drive and offers plenty of cafes, little shops and even a famous Harry Potter Store ;-) There are many shorter and longer local hiking trails available. Discover the stunning rain forest of Mount Glorious or enjoy a swim in the nearby swimming holes of Cedar Creek. If you love a day in the city the train takes you from Ferny Grove right into the city in 30 min.
