  Hello! We are Josy and Itay, a couple from Germany and Israel, living on a peaceful 1-hectare land in the countryside of Carregal do Sal. Our home is surrounded by nature, with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and chickens providing fresh eggs. We also run 2 guesthouse properties, keeping us busy with guests year-round.
  We're part of a vibrant expat community in the Oliveira do Hospital area, where we enjoy attending local markets, small parties, and events. We're excited to meet like-minded travelers and share our little slice of paradise with you!"

  Join our little farm and experience the beauty of rural Portugal! As a Workawayer, you'll not only learn new skills in construction and land maintenance, but you'll also get to immerse yourself in the local culture. We'll share our knowledge and experiences with you, and we're excited to learn from you too!
  
  Who knows, you might even get inspired to start your own farm one day! Our farm is a great place to learn the ins and outs of rural living, and we're happy to share our expertise with you.

  Arbeit

  We're looking for someone to lend a hand with various tasks around our property! We're currently working on a small studio project and would love some extra help with tasks like mixing cement, carrying materials, and general labor. In the future, we might need assistance with wood working projects too.
  
  Beyond this, we're also looking for help with:
  - Land maintenance, especially with autumn cleanup
  - Gardening tasks, like pruning, weeding, and planting
  - Walking our 2 lovely dogs and giving them some exercise
  - Assisting with the upcoming olive harvest
  - Other general tasks to keep our little slice of paradise running smoothly
  - you will NOT be taking part in any of the guest house activities
  
  If you're handy, love the outdoors, and enjoy working with your hands, we'd love to have you join us for a Workaway experience!

  Unterkunft

  Accomodation 🌳🏠
  You will stay in a cute wooden cabin on a private terrace in a small forest. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including:
  
  - Fresh sheets and towels
  - Soaps and essentials
  - A private bathroom with hot water and a compost toilet
  
  Food 🥗
  During the workweek, we'll have a delicious vegetarian brunch, with whatever there is from our garden and eggs from our happy chickens. It's a great way to refuel and connect with each other after a morning of work.
  We are usually eating together, whenever its possible. We will provide tasty vegetarian food for you :D
  On days where its not possible, we will provide groceries for you that you can prepare yourself in your fully equipped kitchen.

  Extra Details to Keep in Mind
  
  - Getting Around: We have a scooter available for trips to town, but having a car would be super helpful for exploring the area and attending local events.
  
  - Pets: Unfortunately, we can't host volunteers with dogs, as our furry friends are quite territorial and need their space.
  
  - Children: Due to the cabin's size, we're unable to accommodate families with kids.
  
  - Preferred Volunteers: We'd love to host couples or single guys who can lend a hand with heavier tasks like chainsaw work or cement projects. Right now this is the help we need. It might change in spring time when its a lot more about planting and gardening.
