… read more amazing job cleaning out the chicken house, weeding the wicking beds, and rebuilding two of our garden beds. Patricia and Ines also introduced us to Portuguese food and have reignited the dream to get to Portugal one day too!

This was our first experience in the workaway and it went very well! Toni couldn't be more thoughtful and Dave funnier! Both were great on welcoming us both at home and farm. In the house we couldn't have felt more comfortable using all the food we wanted, using the washing machines and all parts of the house (including the amazing interior
… read more balcony perfect on the sunny winter days 😍). Regarding our tasks, the instructions had a clear goal, while at the same time allowed us to learn by exploring our own way to perform them. We were very lucky because we had two baby lambs to feed with milk and to make us company all day, we also had the chance to feed the sheep, the chickens, the alpacas, make some gardening in the greenhouse and to rebuild some veggie beds, to help on chopping the wood and even driving the buggy 🙏
To wrap up the day, Toni always cooked delicious vegetarian meals and after dinner we would spend some time playing board games with Toni and Dave!
We really want to thank them for the warm welcoming and for the knowledge that both of them transmitted us, not only about permaculture, about the farm management in general, and also about the amazing vegetarian recipes and super fun games!
We totally recommend staying and helping Toni and Dave if you are looking to learn about the farm lifestyle and like to be surrounded by nature (including many nice birds, rabbits and kangaroos). It is truly like the pictures show, a very calm and green place. It's a very well balanced workaway, because you feel excited with the specific tasks to complete, feel that you can make a difference, while being trusted to manage them at your own pace and still have free time during the day for your own stuff. When you want to go and visit the city center in Canberra, Toni and Dave are always available to try to conciliate the rides!
