  Some cats on the property and almost 20 chickens who walk here freely and provide us with their eggs.

  We live in a beautiful and peaceful part of the Netherlands, surrounded by nature, near the small village of Terschuur. Our home and family life are generally calm and relaxed, making this a lovely place for someone who enjoys quiet surroundings and would like time and space to focus on a personal project.
  
  We have a studio space that we would be happy to share with a creative and independent person. It could be an ideal place for someone who is studying, writing a book, making art or working on another creative project. Your mornings will generally be free, giving you plenty of time for yourself and your own work.
  
  We are looking for a warm, calm and proactive person who would enjoy staying with us for a period of three weeks to a maximum of three months. We would mainly appreciate some help in the afternoons. This would include picking up the children from school or driving them to sports clubs and other activities. Occasionally, you might spend some time with them, play a game or think of something fun or creative to do together. We would also appreciate help preparing and cooking dinner once or twice a week, as well as occasional help with a few light household tasks.
  
  A valid driving licence and confidence behind the wheel are therefore important. We are looking for someone who genuinely likes children, is responsible and flexible, and can organise their time independently. Although our family life is usually quiet, daily life can sometimes be a little unstructured, so someone who is naturally calm and grounded would fit in very well with us.
  
  You will have a very small and simple private space with your own toilet, but without a full kitchen or bathroom. You are, of course, welcome to use the kitchen, bathroom and other facilities in our family home.
  
  Because we live in a rural area, there is not much happening within walking distance. This stay is therefore especially suitable for someone who genuinely appreciates nature, peaceful surroundings and spending time at home. You should also feel comfortable being on your own and enjoy having independence and privacy.
  
  At the same time, it would be lovely if you occasionally wanted to share a meal, have a good conversation or play a game together in the evening. We hope to welcome someone open-minded, creative and kind who enjoys the balance between peaceful time alone and being part of a relaxed family home.

  We live in the middle of the country, next to Barneveld. 5 km from a station. There is always someone who can take you to or pick you up from the train. Or there is a bicycle you can use, or someone who can drop you off or pick you up!
  Amersfoort is a city nearby and otherwise Utrecht or Amsterdam (50 minutes by car).

  Arbeit

  As I am on my own for much of the week, I would love to have an extra person around the house. We already have some household help, so I am mainly looking for support with everyday family life. Because we live quite remotely, my children often need to be driven to and from school, sports and other activities. A driving licence and confidence behind the wheel are therefore important.
  
  My children are 11 and almost 14. I think it would be lovely for them to have a younger person around—not as a babysitter, but as someone they can talk to, laugh with and perhaps occasionally do something fun with. It would also give them the opportunity to meet people from different countries and learn about other cultures in a natural and personal way.
  
  For me, Workaway is not only about practical help. I genuinely enjoy welcoming people from different backgrounds into our home, exchanging stories and perspectives, and simply having some extra company. We all value our independence, but it would be nice to occasionally share dinner, play a game or have a relaxed conversation in the evening.

  You will stay in a very small and simple private space. It has its own toilet, but no full kitchen or bathroom. You are welcome to use the kitchen, bathroom and other facilities in our family home. We have 2 bathrooms, so that will work.
