We are a community-run school providing secondary education and vocational skills training to orphans and other children from disadvantaged backgrounds, with an outreach program in the communinites. We.We have over 400 students, both girls and boys, aged between 14 and 20.
We are located in a village, Mukungwe sub county in Masaka District, 85 miles (135 km) south west of the Ugandan capital Kampala.
The school is run on Christian principles, and accepts children regardless of their religion, tribe, ethnicity or political background. Some students come from the nearby slums, while others come from the rural areas, with a few from as far away as Tanzania and Rwanda. There is a mixture of day and boarding students due to the long distance that some have to travel to reach the school.

At weekends you will be free to relax and visit places of interest in the Masaka area, or travel more widely in Uganda. The people in the area surrounding the school are friendly and happy to get to know visitors.
We are near Lake Nabugabo and Lake Victoria, where you can watch the wildlife or go to the beach. You can also visit the Catholic cathedral and burial place of Fr Ngobya who was said to have miraculous powers.
We are seeking volunteer English, biology and computer teachers. We also seek for volunteers who can help building and practicing agriculture as well as a fundriser for projects both for the school and for outside the school.A projects writer is also needed
You will be involved in teaching secondary-level students, and planning lessons. The average class size is 65. Ideally, you should also be able to provide training/mentoring to other teachers at the school. This is especially important for computer teachers as, although we have a small number of computers, none of our staff have experience in teaching IT skills.
We are also looking for people who can assist with school administration or proposal writing.

We have an Airtel 4G wireless hub, which connects up to 10 devices. The speed is very good, and all is needed is for data to be purchased. You can purchase for around US$8 a package of 9GB for a month, and use it at will.
