  We are an English couple in our early 60s, living in a converted longere in northern rural France 2 kilometres ourside a small village on the border of Normandy and Brittany. We have lived here for about 20 years. We have over half an acre of land, including a wildlife garden, two dogs, three cats, chickens and sheep and work on the building and the land is ongoing. I am a writer, and I work from home, and my husband is carpenter. Our children grew up here in France, and are now studying and working in the UK

  We are quite isolated, so the main appeal is being out in the countryside. However, there are historic towns with half an hour's drive, and the Bay of Mont Saint Michel, is just over an hour away. We live a quiet life with our animals, but our house is full of books and films and we enjoy cooking.

  Arbeit

  We mainly need help with the animals - cleaning out the chicken coop, helping with lambs, walking the dogs, looking after our garden - grass and hedge cutting, dredging ponds, as well as general maintenance - mending fences, digging, weeding etc... Possibly, depending on skills and inclination, there may be DIY projects that you could help with. We are happy to chat about what would work for everyone. It would probably suit a couple, but we are not excluding singles either!

  We have two spare bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which would be for anyone staying. We are looking for help for about 15 hours a week, and we will provide at least one meal a day, or ingredients for a meal. We are happy to discuss arrangements for other meals, either preparing your own from your own ingredients, or sharing the cooking and shopping.

  Located where we are, on the border of Normandy and Brittany, there are many nearby places of interest to visit - including historic market towns (eg Fougeres) and The Bay of Mont Saint Michel, but there is very limited local public transport, so a car would be needed.
  
  We are looking for help for about 15 hours a week, and we will provide a meal, or ingredients for a meal at least once a day. We are happy to discuss arrangements for other meals, either preparing your own from your own ingredients, or sharing the cooking and shopping.
