  We are an Italian family of three: Tommaso, Monica, and Susanna (16 years old). We live in the countryside near Lucca, a beautiful historic town in Tuscany known for its charming atmosphere and its unique Renaissance walls.
  Our area is peaceful and green, but also very well connected. From here you can easily reach Pisa, Florence, the Cinque Terre, the seaside of Viareggio, and even the mountains of the Apuan Alps by car, train, or bus.
  We are sociable, friendly, and open-minded people, and we will do our best to make you feel comfortable at home. We love having friends over for dinner, spending time together as a family, going for walks, and enjoying an aperitif now and then.

  If you want to learn italian it is a perfect way to do it! You can learn more about italian lifestyle and food as we cook together and exchange recipes! For us, Workaway is mainly about cultural exchange: meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing stories, meals, and experiences.

  Arbeit

  In the past, we have hosted several young people, mainly to give our daughter the chance to practice English in a natural way, but also because we truly enjoy meeting people from different cultures and perspectives. Since we don’t have many opportunities to travel at the moment, this kind of exchange is a meaningful way for us to open our home to the world and learn from others.
  
  For us, Workaway is mainly about cultural exchange: meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing stories, meals, and experiences.
  At the same time, we’d really appreciate a helping hand with some small practical projects around the house, especially to get the garden ready for summer. Nothing too heavy or technical—just simple, hands-on tasks like gardening, small DIY tasks, maybe a bit of painting or general tasks.
  
  The idea is to do tasks together in a relaxed way for a few hours a day, and then enjoy the rest of the time—whether that’s exploring the area, cooking together, or just having a good conversation.
  We appreciate people who are tidy, respectful of shared spaces, and preferably non-smokers.
  You don’t need to be an expert, just willing to help, learn, and share. A positive attitude and flexibility matter much more than specific skills.
  
  If you like the idea of a genuine exchange and don’t mind getting your hands a bit dirty in the garden, you’ll feel at home here 😊

  Unterkunft

  We can accommodate you on the ground floor of our house, where you will have your own private bedroom and bathroom, ensuring both comfort and privacy.
  You will also have access to a fully equipped kitchen. While you are welcome to cook independently, we would be happy to share dinners together whenever possible, as we enjoy spending time and connecting over a meal. We are usually not at home for lunch on weekdays, except during the weekends.
  The house has a stable internet connection and is set in a beautiful and peaceful location, perfect for relaxing walks, especially at sunset.
  We also have a small swimming pool, available during the summer months, which can be a nice way to cool off and relax after a day outside.

  You're always welcome to join us during our free time.
  We're very flexible and happy to help you organize your stay. If you'd like, you can also take advantage of longer weekends to explore the region, as there are many wonderful places to visit nearby.
  We usually plan our tasks day by day, adapting tasks to your needs and ours, so everything remains flexible and relaxed.
  We live in the countryside, about 5 km from the center of Lucca. If you have your own car, everything would be easier; otherwise, we can provide you with a bicycle during your stay and give you a ride into the city or on public transportation whenever you need it.
  We are always happy to answer any questions you may have before your arrival, so feel free to get in touch anytime.
