Belen, a 28 year old literature student, who kindly left us this very negative review, had fun divulging our private lives in the book she was writing during her stay at our family business.
We cut her stay short, because after violating our privacy, she posed a real threat to us, as she had access to our guests' rooms, and we were very worried

Before this episode, contrary to what she may say in her review, we were very kind and understanding as she did burn our kitchen worktop and literally smashed a television.

The experience has been very negative. Although in the beginning Vanessa and Ursula were very nice, Ursula has clear problems to manage. She has insulted me, she has no work schedule (we are supposed to be there to work when it suits her) and the castle is far away from everything. I do not recommend it. Ursula take care of yourself.

Rivka is a really nice person, hard-working and always motivated. Even though her stay was less than two weeks in our family-run Bed & Breakfast, she helped us a lot during this short time. We really enjoyed her skills as a waitress during our home-made dinners, served to our guests. She really had fun doing this, we could read it on her smiling
… read more face, and she forwarded this positive energy to our guests, who really appreciated her. She also helped us a lot by cleaning the rooms and public spaces, helped us with the breakfast, etc... And what beautiful curtains she left in the rooms! She took care of the details!
We loved having her at our table, she always had something to tell, and she enjoyed the small things, like discovering a new type of wine.
She is a real little sunshine and we are thanking her a lot for her time with us, and her help!

Marina stayed 1 month and a half in our family-run Castel in Brittany, where we have an activity of Bed & Breakfast. The place is big, and we need young people who are ready to help us, and can adapt to our family.
Marina was just perfect! She is a discreet, respectful and working person, with a big heart. She will not speak a lot, but she will
… read more observe, and take care of every little detail that she may see. She is a really trustful woman and you can easily give her responsibilities, she will always give her best.
In our Bed & Breakfast she helped us for the breakfast (preparing fruit salad, taking care of the dishes, and at the end she took care of all the "end" part of the breakfast : cleaning, reorganising, filling up the things that needed to, setting the tables, etc...), she also helped us in the rooms (all different cleaning tasks, taking care of the little details (curtains, filling up the courtesy tray), she took full responsibility of our terrace everyday (cleaning, filling up the coffee, rearranging the couch...). She did a lot of other things, of course !
But she was also a real family member during her whole stay. We really loved having her with us, and since she is gone we are really missing her. We tried our best to show her things about Brittany & France, with the small free time we had. Even about this small things, she was really grateful.
We have not even one negative point about Marina, and we can only recommend her, you can only be happy about her presence, and her help.
Many many many thanks for everything you have done for our Castle & our family! As we told you, our doors are always open for you. My mom and I, the cats and the dog, we are all wishing you the really best, dear Marina!

My experience could not have been better.
I felt safe and at home.
About the place: it is a refuge in nature, the castle is incredible, with lots of flowers, trees, a wonderful pool, a super comfortable room with everything you need (towels, bed linen, hairdryer) and the cleaning is meticulous. There is no public transportation, but you can go to
… read more the city center by bike or on foot, where there is a church, a little shop and beautiful architecture. I walked to the Nantes-Brest canal twice. It is incredible and very peaceful! Near the property there is another very famous castle (Trevarez) which I also walked to and it only took 6 minutes, it is well worth it.
About the food: it is very tasty. Many meals use ingredients grown in the castle (like pumpkins and mushrooms). Vanessa cooks extremely well! She is well seasoned and tasty. I am a vegetarian and they always made sure to include me in the meals (like pizzas, oriental food).
About the tasks: the tasks were well explained, Vanessa and Ursula showed me very patiently and then I did them. I helped clean the castle (windows, floor, kitchen, etc.). Organizing and tidying the rooms. Preparing fruit for breakfast.
The family: I had the pleasure of meeting Alex (Ursula's son) who spends most of his time in Switzerland, Vanessa who coordinates most of the things in the castle and Úrsula, their mother who charms with her friendly manner and funny stories.
The family has very cute pets that I miss every day (3 cats and 1 dog). They speak French and German to each other and spoke to me in English.
Exchanging languages: they were super patient with me, they tried to teach me words in French, during dinner I tried to read in French to Vanessa (super funny!), you will talk to guests from all over the world, watch programs on local TV and learn more about Brittany.
I also had the opportunity to visit some cities near Saint Goazec. The girls would take me when they could or needed something in the place, so I could do some sightseeing during that time.
If you want a place to rest your mind, this is the place. Obviously, this is a work place, so you should be responsible and talk about your duties and free time (it was very well agreed between the parties).
